Hi all! My 180 day mark is Monday. I have a DVC reservation. I know I have to pay for the dining plan when I add it to our reservation. ( no pros and cons of the dining plan, please, it works for us. ) Do I have to add the dining plan to our reservation PRIOR to our 180 day mark?, In other words, do I have to have to have the dining plan in place to get the ADR's? Because they will ask if on the dining plan, correct?
Also, I know I can reserve online, but I think I read that the system does not recognize a DVC reservation #. Is this correct? I have to wait until the phones open @ 9:00?:confused3
I am rusty at this, can you tell? TIA to anyone who can help!

My 180 day mark is Monday too!!
I guess there has been an issue for a while now with the on-line system not recognizing DVC reservations...so I'll be on at exactly 9:00AM!
We are not doing the dining plan, but in the past I have made reservations before adding the dining plan and it was never an issue.
Good luck getting everything you want! I'm so excited for Monday!! :goodvibes

You do not have to have the dining plan to make ADRs. They will ask you for your resort reservation - this is what entitles guests to make the 180+10 ADRs.

I don't know about making ADRs online with a DC confirmation number but if you do have to call, the phone lines open at 7am eastern time.

As the above poster said, the dining phone lines open at 7am EST, so that's 2 less hours to wait :) (or, 2 less hours to sleep, depending on your circumstance ;)).

It's true that there have been reports about the online system not recognizing DVC Resort Confirmation numbers, so you will likely have to call. However, if you can get the time to get up even earlier (or, be at the computer even earlier, again, depending on your own stuff :p), the online system starts the new day at 6am EST, so you can try before you even call.

The dining plan stuff comes into play for only one circumstance when making ADRs, and that has to do with the prepaid events that are on the DDP (so, CRT, HDDR, etc). If you have an applicable dining plan associated with your resort reservation, then these go from full prepaid to cc-guarantees (for the full amount). If you're not doing any of these, or you're willing to wait until you get there to get refunded, it doesn't matter when you add the dining plan (so long as it's more than 2 days before check-in! (3 days for non-DVC))

I am a Monday Ressie-Maker too! I have a DVC confirmation that worked when I plugged into my account on waltdisneyworld.com. It even tells me the date that I can make dinng reservations. Try that & see if it works.

We still need to add the dining plan, but no worries as you will still be able to make ressies!

Also, I believe that online Ressies can be made a 6 a.m. ET. Phone ressies open at 7 a.m.

Where are you all staying? Which restaurants are you making ressies for?
