1) If you switch Disney hotels mid-stay, will Disney transfer your luggage for you to your new location?

2) If you make a ressie for a Disney hotel now and a discount for that resort comes out after you've made the ressie, will Disney give you the discount if you call and ask?

Welcome to the DIS!!! You have come to the right place to have your questions answered.
The answer to both questions is Yes. If you switch resorts mid stay Disney will transfer your luggage to your new resort. It will most likely not be available until later in the afternoon, but they will deliver it to your new resort.
You can apply a discount code to an existing room reservation.

I thought they made you cancel the one you had and make a new one. Technically maybe it doesn't make much difference, but if the days aren't available, they aren't available, and I don't think they'll just tack the code or whatever on to what you've already booked.

I wonder why they made me do otherwise? Well, who knows. I believe you.

I think you can easily apply a AAA discount because they'll discount any room that way, but there are only so many AP rooms or rooms with codes and I've been made to make whole new reservations. They've gone so far as to refund my deposit and recharge me.

They tacked the code onto the reservation I had with AAA. No problem at all assuming of course that your stay fits the requirements of the code.

Thanks so much for the info everyone.

We've always stayed at the value resorts to save money -- but on our next trip we hope to do a few days at a deluxe (the Contemporary) and then move over to something less expensive. It's GREAT to know that they'll take care of the luggage transfer. And I really need to make ressies for the Contemporary ASAP -- has anyone noticed how fast those rooms are going for 2008???? -- but I don't want to miss out on any discounts that may come up later.

We're pretty laid back, so however it works out is A-OK with us...but I do love to save a little money if I can. :)

My experience has been a bit different than PP; it is my feeble understanding that a certain number of rooms are blocked off at each resort for AP discounts. I have already had a room at one value, and when AP discounts came out, I called to apply, but were told there were no more AP discount rates at that resort, but I could switch to another value and apply it. I ONLY have experience with Ap rates--none with AAA or Disney "specials."

I had made a reservation about a month ago, and just today I called to see if I could tack on a AAA discount. I was allowed to do it, but they had to cancel my first reservation and put in a new one.
