Do they serve hard liquor in the Oceaneer Club?

Just kidding. I actually have two unrelated questions:

1) Is it permissable to pack booze in your checked baggage for use on the cruise? I haven't been able to find a written policy on this.

2) We have a precocious 5 year old little girl who is looking forward to the activities in the Oceaneer Club, but I've read comments from a few posters that their children were bored. Any response?

Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

We brought on wine this time and in the past have brought on liquor. Always in our carry on.

We were just on the WOnder and my nephew(4) was never bored. In fact he got upset when my brother wanted him to leave.

We carry on all the time. A case and a half or two of my favorite beverage....miller lite. I use a small carry on suitcase with wheels. I is perfect to bring back souvineers......

The newest activities in the Oceaneer Club are as follows:

Boys are learning the fine art of Beer Making, including Malt Mashes & Hop Harvests. Scotch Sniffing upon request.

Little Girls are stomping grapes for the DCL Wine List.

Teens got dishwashing duty for all their back-talking and "whatever's"

(kidding) :rotfl:

We just sailed last week - and took a bottle of Captain Morgan & Baileys for our coffee. We carried it on so it didn't get broke. We arrived to the terminal late - 3:00pm There was no one there - so security had plenty of time to search and no one said a word.

Fairey,Lampskies, and bowling; thanks.

deeds: LOL! Can't wait to sign our little one up for that class on "Making Mickey Martinis for Daddy":

If you bring your own wine on board, how do you get it uncorked without paying the corking fee in the dining room? I read you can't bring a cork screw on board, so how do you get around the corking fee?

Very intrigued by the title - couldn't wait to see the connection! :rotfl2:

We absolutely brought a corkscrew on board - no problems.

Also, re:the Oceaneer's Club - I have a very active 5-year old. She LOVES the clubs. Spent a lot of her time there when she was 3, and then again for a week. Never had a complaint from her. We tried to hit the pools in the morning and then she was at the Club most afternoons. I know I've seen a rash of complaints here all of a sudden, but she enjoyed the activities and had two favorite counselors. We found them all to be attentive and friendly.

Thanks flexsmom: I'd never heard any complaints about kids experiences in the Oceaneers Club until logging on here, but the responses to this thread have reassured me.

Sounds like my kind of guy. If you're cruising on May 8, we can work something out, but only if he promises to bring the olives too!

This post is hilarious!!! :rotfl2:

Not only can you b.y.o.b. on the cruise, but we even cracked into our purchased stash from St. Thomas (eventhough we weren't supposed to). On our last night we ended up in a cabin with some awesome people that we actually met on the cruise-meet board (we hit it off so well with them that we are cruising together again on 4-29-06) :disrocks: ...anyway they bought quite a few fifths of vanilla vodka in St. Thomas with the intention of taking them home, however we finished off at least two bottles (four couples) in their room making Key Lime Martinis...yummy!!! :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 They even brought a shaker on board with them!!!

As far as the kids clubs go, we had a hard time getting our daughters out of the clubs (5 & 8 at the time)...

Of course they do. How do you think the counselors survive for a whole week?

<kidding>

You can bring a corkscrew but it has to be in your checked luggage. I always travel with a mini sewing kit that includes sharp pointy scissors, needles, thread and a couple of the cork screws that cruise ships hand out when you order wine in your room. I have never had a problem with security taking them nor Disney security taking them. Do not pack these items in your carry on. We also put our liquor in a carry-on but I have traveled with non carbonated drinks in the checked luggage. The trick--wrap in a zip lock style bag, wrap then in bubble wrap and place in center of suitcase. I have never had a problem. My preferred packing method is in a carry-on. Kathy

These is the best topic out there. Thanks for all the great info on bring booze on board and that the kids should have a great time also. I love it here! :rotfl:

rejobako....when are you cruising????? I want to be on your cruise!!!! :rotfl:

The corkage fee is only in the restarants at dinner, our cabin steward brought us a cork screw as well as clean glasses daily for wine and champagne. We normally by the wine package for dinner and bring baileys for coffee in the mornings. Our cabin had multiple bottles seemingly every where and no one ever said a word other than would you like extra ice for the champagne. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Does anyone know what kind off charge there is to bring back more than 1 liter from the Western cruises. I have read that you can only bring back 1 liter from this cruise. What would be the fee if I bring more back?
