Two Questions (moves & views)

We just booked a Disney trip at the end of April. Because we are a family of 5 our least expensive option is the POR. We stayed there two years ago and wanted to try something different, but staying at a Deluxe for 6 nights was too much. We decided to spend the first two nights at the Contemporary and are moving to the POR for the next 4 nights. I did it this way so we can enjoy the excitement the first few days and then relax more during the rest of the trip.

I have two questions:
1) We have a standard garden view room at the Contemporary. Can we request a room that has a view of the MK? Or does this cost more money?

2) Any suggestions for moving between resorts? I enjoy the planning process, so any planning tips that will help the transition go smoothly would be helpful. (My children are 9. 7, & 4)

Thank You!

I have a couple of answere, and I'm sure you'll get more fromthose that have actually split their stays a much greater distance than I (from Yacht Club to Beach Club...transported my own luggage.)

1) The Garden view wing rooms aren't really facing MK...if you want to guarantee MK view you would need to book a tower room which is more money.

2) Check out of Contemporary earlier than 11 and ask that they transport your luggage to POR. The earlier, the better. As far as checking into to POR that day, it's up to you. I would preregister early, but I don't htik it'll make a difference with luggage transfers, just a difference if you have made certain location requests.

HTH.

When are you going? I seem to remember that there will be a class of rooms you can book that have a view of MK.

One of the themes I hear from people who do a split stay between a Moderate and Deluxe is that one should always go to the moderate first and then switch to the deluxe. Many posters state that it is sort of a letdown going from the deluxe to the moderate, and you don't want to spend the last few days of your vacation "pining" for your deluxe room.

Have you considered a DVC rental? I justed rented 6 nights at OKW in a Studio for about the price of POR. You get 2 queen beds and a kitchenette.

I would love to stay at CBR, but with 5 we can't. We arrive on April 22 and leave POR on the 28th.
