Welcome to my very first trip report. I hope I can do it justice. :thumbsup2

First some background on the planning of the trip. DH and I never really had a honeymoon when we got married and after a few years we decided for our 5th wedding anniversary we wanted to take a trip to Disney World. Well, the year of our 5th anniversary came and we weren't able to go, so we ended up postponing the trip a year.

Our anniversary is in August, but decided we would want to go to the world in October 2011 for the Halloween Party. We made our reservations in March of 2011 for a ten day trip and the endless learning of Disney information began for me.

We first we're booked at Pop Century resort, but after a few months decided to upgrade ourselves to the Beach Club. DH and I are extremely picky when it comes to eating, so we also decided on doing the Deluxe Dining. We also figured since this trip was an anniversary trip we wanted to be able to try as many restaurants as we could.

Let me introduce us:

DH - Gary, 41 years old and never ever been to a Disney Park before this trip. He was VERY skeptical the entire time I was planning this trip. He never had a positive thing to say whenever I brought up the trip planning. He was worried he wouldn't have fun. He was worried Disney World was only for kids. He was worried it was a huge waste of money. He was worried that he wouldn't find anything to eat and the list goes on!

Me - Becky, 35 years old and this also was my first trip to Disney world. Though I grew up in California and went to Disneyland several times (almost annually) when I lived there. Though DL is way different than WDW. Going to WDW has been a dream of mine since I was younger and I'm so happy I was able to experience it with Gary.

Day 1 October 20th

Our flight wasn't until 2pm and it was only about 2 hours long, so we were able to get a direct flight on JetBlue. This was our first time flying on JetBlue and DH and I liked it very much. We enjoyed the DirectTV on the flight and the Sirius music too.

A few plane pics:

Once we landed we got a little turned around on how to get to the ME, but once we did we were really excited. One of the cast members let me borrow his Mickey glove for the picture.

This was our first time on ME and we thought it was great!

After a few stops (about 3) we finally got to the Beach Club!! This is where I was at the edge of my seat with excitement.

I did a lot of research on the Beach Club when I first booked it and the resort FAQ thread here was so helpful and full of some amazing people who are so nice.

When we first walked into the resort the smell of the Beach Club was wonderful and it seemed to wash away all of DH's worries about staying there.

After we checked in we decided to go up to our room. We stayed on the third floor. We had requested a full balcony and a king bed, but we knew that it would be very rare to get a king bed.

But we got one!!!!!!

Though we didn't get a full balcony, but both DH and I were able to stand on it together no problem.

We could even see Illuminations through the trees at night, which was awesome!
