Two Park ticket upgrades...?

I have two park unlimited visits in 14 days tickets which I purchased through the company that I hired my rental car.

I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade these to Annual Passes, and if so, how much would that cost? The main motivation is avoiding the rather expensive $15/day parking. Tried to avoid it by taking a shuttle today but missed the return ride and ended up with a $25 taxi bill!

It will just be the difference in what you paid for the tickets and the annual pass cost. The preferred pass is $229.

So they have a record of the cost of the ticket? It doesn't state it on the ticket itself and I can't see anywhere in the US where you can buy a 14 day unlimited visit pass?!

I guess I'll just ask

universal has it in their system the costs of the tickets.

if you have older tickets, the TM could find the price you paid for them in the system.

you would pay the difference from the amount you paid to the cost they are when you are doing the upgrade.

I guess that answers my question too. I have 2 day 2 park tickets I purchased for the family with an AP discount and they were wondering if they could apply the value towards an AP. Since I got them at a discounted price, I guess only the actual price I paid is applied??? (the way I read it here)

yes, the price you paid on those tickers, will be applied to the cost of the AP.

If anyone happens to come across this and wonder the same question, the upgrade cost per ticket to the annual passes is $90. The annual pass would begin on the last day the 14 day pass was used.

All tickets have a barcode. Programmed into that barcode is the price that 3rd party dealers sold the tickets for. Universal uses that price to determine what you need to pay for your upgrades.

Fair enough - it works out pretty close, but not exactly that. $130 and $116 for adult and child tickets originally - add $90 to each and it's $220 ($10 less), but $206 for the kids even though kids annual passes seem to be the same price as adults.

All prices are pre-tax..

It would now be cheaper for me to get an annual pass to use next year rather than buying tickets next year, but I'm not certain I'll be coming back!
