Two new attractions for Disney Studios UPDATE

I think it's great news to be getting a 2nd attraction :cool1:

In the Figaro article Mr Gas doesn't talk at all about closing an existing one, he just says 2 new ones

It's just them "speculating" as usual and I wouldn't be taking it seriously until DLP says yes we are closing this, that or the other or no we are building something brand new on a new site and leaving everything else intact :goodvibes

I know it’s only speculation, but I so hope that DLRP gets Philharmagic. I’ve been hoping this will happen for years! And it’d be so easy for them to implement.

Either Cinemagique or Animagique could both do with being replaced by it (Philharmagique?! Lol)

It’s one of the best attractions at WDW, if not the best in their MK, and would add so much magic to WDS, not to mention a continuous crowd pleaser and not an attraction people have to wait a couple of hours for the next showing of.

Philharmagic would be wonderful, I love it and would be very happy to have it in Paris.
But I think it will be a minor attraction, like they did when they build the Nemo coaster and built in the same area Cars Race Rally

He also said that they are going to build new hotels. Very strange news, they have problems filling the existing ones, why build more?
Is it possible that they are going to build a DVC resort?

I thought that refered to the Villages Nature projet :confused3

Interesting. I love Philharmagic but it'd be a shame for it to replace one of the current '-magiques', as they are original to DLP.

My thoughts exactly. Cinemagique is an incredible and unique show, I'd hate to see it go.

If we ever see Philharmagic, it would probably replace Captain EO.

As for this mystery 2nd ride, It'll almost certainly be a small ride. In a fantasy world it'd be Soarin but I think that's unlikely.

I've no idea what Philharmagic is but seeing as Captain Eo is "normally" going on the 1st of April you never know..that wish might be realised :wizard:

It's another '4D' show featuring Mickey, Donald and co.

Discoveryland isn't the best fit for the show but it'd be popular.

I thought that...but I just can't see how they'd make an excuse for Philharmagic to be relevant in Discoveryland.

It's a Fantasyland attraction in WDW, TDL and HKDL, and the would be out of place in Discoveryland.

It'd fit a bit better in the studios as they could fit it in with the Art of Animation etc.

But even with a very far fetched pre-show it just wouldn't work in Tomorrowland. :(

I'm not sure how important continuity is any more. There's lots of stuff in the studios that doesn't make any sense whatsoever (ToT, TSPL, Ratatouile).

Buzz doesn't really make sense either as he's a present day character and doesn't even remotely fit in with the Juels Verne theme.

I'm not saying that I'm for it, just suggesting that it's the most likely way to bring the show to DLRP.

Yeah, that's a point. I think it's hard with Discoveryland, as the Jules Verne theme makes it look better it does make it difficult to find an excuse for things to be there.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to see my favourite attraction comes so close to home, but I kind of like things to be in the right place. :)

I do hope they replace Armegeddon if they are simply redoing one ride. I think it is far too long winded and unenjoyable and they could do alot more in this location then just a few shakes and a bit of fire.

You never know though, it could just be an addition like McQueen was to the Stunts show... that would be a bit meh but fingers crossed for something new and exciting.

I also think its good that Capt Eo is going as its a bit tired (same age as me! :upsidedow) but there is no word of a replacement yet.... Now, all together everyone... "Please not Honey I shrunk the kids again, please not Honey I shrunk the kids again, please not Honey I shrunk the kids again"

Thanks for posting - exciting stuff! :cool1:

Hopefully will be a new ride & they release info soon.

I like the idea of Muppets 3D to replace Captain Eo.

That'd be amazing!!! And it's sort of sciencey themed. AND it's current!!!

Please please please!!!!!

ETA.....I doubt they will as they'd have to add the animatronics and effects etc.....

I got all excited there for a moment!

I think there are things that have been there for ages that need a good shake up, or that are never very busy any more.

I really don't enjoy the Tram Tour anymore - the original ride made sense, but now that it's been cut and without the video, it was a bit boring to be honest.

Honey I shrunk the kids was ok in it's time - our kids loved the original films - but I don't think it's relevant anymore, so I hope we don't get that back.

Armagedden (sp) would not be missed by me, nor will Captain Eo.

Muppets would be an excellent addition, but as much as I love them I still don't think of them as being part of Disney, sorry :sad2:

I'm sure whatever is planned will be good. I really only want knew things, so that i've something new to look forward to each trip. ( not that I really need anything to justify it!)

UPDATE:

Bob Iger told shareholders that “preliminary design work” is under way on adding Marvel to the parks: “We’re working on some concepts and it’s our hope that in a few places around the world, Marvel characters will appear either in attractions or lands or in some form to provide entertainment, like our Disney characters do.”

I think we'll see a Marvel 3rd gate and not Marvel rides in our other 2 parks.

As part of the land deal they have to make a 3rd gate by a certain date (2020?) or they lose the spare land. There's no way they'd want to lose that land as a rival might open near them.

They've mentioned a Marvel park before and I think it would be a good fit in Paris. I don't want to see Marvel in Disneyland park!

Love the idea of a Marvel park. I have plenty of friends who wouldn't be caught dead at Disney but would fall over themselves to go if there was a Marvel park close to home.

They're certainly thinking about it! I love Marvel and think it would make an excellent park. It'd be great to have an adult park full of coasters and more extreme rides. The Marvel brand lends itself nicely to that.
