Two little Princesses on their first trip to WDW *8/30 - update*

Wow!!! The girls look so adorable!! That is so cool they got to see Charles play the beast! He looked like such a great sport out under the sun with allthat on!!:goodvibes

Looking forward to more!!!

I sent you a pm.

This was the part of WDW I had the highest hopes for. From the moment I started researching our trip, I had the picture in my mind of the girls all princessed-up and dining in the castle with Cindy. I originally started my Disney VISA with the intention of paying for both girls’ BBB sessions with the reward dollars. I booked CRT 6 months out and got the day and time I had hope for. Alright! Things are going my way! :thumbsup2 Then 3 months out I call to make our BBB ressies. They have in their system that Kate is two, so they’re not allowed to book BBB for her. That’s okay. They have the time I want open for Lily. Perfect! I’ll just call back 90 days out as Andy to make Kate’s ressie. No problem. Well, it was a problem. :sad2: They were booked. Nothing all morning was open. Ever. I tried several more times. I even called from the turnstile line at DHS the day before to see if there had been a cancellation. Nope. So I called back and cancelled Lily’s appt. :sad1:

Thanks to Lily’s dance recitals the week earlier, I got some practice in Princess-ish hair. We got up a little earlier this morning and I got their hair fanci-fied. ;)

So back to the report…when we left off we were first in line to enter CRT. The guy in the proper clothing told us the girls had been chosen as honorary Princesses of the day. princess:princess: We were so excited.:banana: Instead of standing in line with the others, we were whisked inside to start checking out the castle. The girls were given stickers to notify all others of their status. It was one of the coolest things we ever could have imagined! :cloud9: We got to see Cindy all by ourselves before anyone else entered.

Waiting in the hall. The girls made a new friend:

I must admit I was a little bummed that she didn’t really interact with the girls. I suppose it’s tough when they’re just awestruck.

We waited for some more people to see Cindy, then the girls led the group into the royal dining hall. We were seated first, fed first, and met all the princesses first. It was really was magical. This was another spot where I figured the Princesses were the only great thing about the meal. I was wrong. All of the food was super yummy! :thumbsup2 Andy and I got the Major Domo – so yummy! Lily got chicken nuggets and said they were very good. Kate got a plate of buttered noodles and ate them like they were going out of style. Dessert was very good, too. We really got stuffed eating this meal!

Belle with a very French accent. I can’t believe the girls didn’t notice how different this Belle and Andy’s Belle were. They sounded completely different and looked completely different! :scared1:

On our way out of the park we found one of the best Photopass Photogs of the week. :cool1:

We called it a day after the nearly perfect morning. We hopped on the monorail with our tuckered out princesses.

We went back to the Poly for naps.

Our Mousekeeper set up their girls friends:

We had to wake up early for our 4:55 ressie at Le Cellier.

We got up and going in time. The girls wanted to wear their pretty dresses again and their hair was still primped. We had a very minimal wait at Le Cellier. I can’t remember exactly what we ordered, but it was very tasty. We learned from this meal, however, that we would not be good candidates for the Deluxe DDP. I was still too full from our huge lunch at CRT to truly enjoy the yummy steaks at Le Cellier. I sure tried, though. This was the only TS that we had to pay for something for Kate to eat. Norway just threw in her meal, CM she was able to eat from the buffet, CRT she received the pasta. We were a bit bummed that they didn’t have something for her anyway, but were excited by how lucky we had been to this point.

Lily working on her sundae for dessert – she thought this was really neat.

We took some pictures in beautiful Canada before moving on.

We headed back to the Poly. This was the only day we weren’t able to swim at the pool. The rest of the trip we got back to the Poly in time to eat after supper.

This was the end to our very magical day!

Up next: Our free day in DTD and supper at O’Hana.

WOW! I just love the update! The pictures of your girls at CRT are just precious and how neat that you got a private audience with Cinderella and were princesses of the day. That is better than BBB anyday! Your post made me miss the days when my DD was still little (I know she is only 9 and that is still little, but the princesses don't have the same Magic for her anymore.)
And those photopass pictures of your girls. They are definitely keepers:goodvibes
I agree with you about the DxDP. The regular one fills us up just fine.
Looking forward to more.

I don't know what it is with Cinderella, but we have yet to find one that interacts very well. It's almost like we are an inconvenience. I thought it was because we don't have any little girls but now I see that's not the case.
Your girls were so adorable! Who needs BBB when they have you to fix them up so spiffy!
You were right those were awesome photo pass pics!

I think I have finally decided against DVC for us. I had it all pencilled out and included 3% increases in annual dues every year. If we were actually able to go every year, then it would probably be a good deal. Just $1000 per year for the rooms for a week. Pretty good to lock it in for that price now. Realistically, we'd probably go every 2-3 years at most. Then the savings seems to take a nose dive. If we don't purchase DVC, we're guessing we'll go at most another 5 times to WDW in the next 50 years. I like the idea of a forced vacation, but there's so many other places we want to go. I think I had pencilled out renting points for a room we'd like for a week at $11 per point would be the same cost as 14 years of DVC trips - but we're not likely to go that many times, so the value diminishes. Who knows, I may change my mind again tomorrow, but for now, I'm fine with the decision to be non-DVC members.

Have you changed your mind yet?? Just kidding :goodvibes I'm glad that you were able to figure it all out and decide what is best for you guys. I think we are going to go the resale way. There are some really great deals out there. Now we just have to decide where we want to buy and how many points. It's fun doing all the researching! It will take a month or so to get all the money together but that actually gives me time to watch the prices and see what is out there.

Funny you ask. SunnieRN has me questioning myself already. I think if I could get 50 - 75 pts for BLT I may have a really hard time not buying in. I think 160 pts is too expensive for how often I think we'll actually travel. I guess I'm going to him-haw for a while yet! :rotfl:

What a wonderful update! Kate and Lily are just adorable in their dresses! They look so very happy! You saw lots of princesses.:thumbsup2 I didn't realize that so many of them were at CRT. For some reason I thought it was Cindy and the mice. Is that dinner?

I'm sorry Cinderella wasn't more engaging though. After getting picked for the honor of princesses for the day you would think that she would be a bit more personable. The Cinderella we had at Norway was very interactive. Both this year and last year. The best one ever was back in 2005 when we met them in ToonTown. She was wonderful and talked to Ben forever. Very sweet.

Thank you! It was a really great time. He did complain later that he got sweaty and dirty up there - the ground wasn't the cleanest spot to lay down! :lmao:

Thank you for the pm. I really appreciate your input on the DVC issue!

Awww...thank you! It was really special. Lily was just saying the other day how neat it was to be an honorary princess for the day. Something I think she'll remember for a long time!

I don't think Lily will be into the princesses for too many more years. You wouldn't believe how many people around here thought we were taking the girls too early - that they were too young to enjoy WDW. I think those are the people that just think WDW is about rides. That was secondary in my mind. The magic was the big selling point for this trip for me!

We were really happy with a lot of the Photopass pics. There will be some stellar ones in my next update.

DxDDp seems like overkill, doesn't it?

I don't know what it is with Cinderella, but we have yet to find one that interacts very well. It's almost like we are an inconvenience. I thought it was because we don't have any little girls but now I see that's not the case.

Yeah, Cinderella just didn't impress like I had hoped. Honestly, Ariel at PSB and Belle at CRT helping Kate with the wishing ceremony, were the best princess interaction of our trip. I'm sure they're rushed, but it just seemed like they wanted to sign our autograph books, pose for a pic, and bolt. I suppose it didn't help the princesses that our girls really didn't speak to them either. But I'm sure mine weren't the only ones that forgot how to speak in their presence!

Thank you for the compliment. I don't think the girls looked too shabby. The gal that checked us in for CRT told us she had selected us as the honorary princesses. I wonder if our homemade, rather than BBB look, got us the pixie dust! :confused3

I think they were picked because they looked so precious! Their hair and dresses were just perfect! Plus they are very pretty little girls!

My mommy ego is through the roof right now. Thank you for the compliments! I thought they looked pretty dang cute, but I'm their mom...I supposed to think that! ;)

I know the little girls love the glitter and make-up at BBB but honestly I think the natural approach is so much sweeter. You did good.:thumbsup2

I always do think it's a little funny when people say they are going to wait until there kids are old enough to ride all the rides. I get that if you're going to Six Flags or Cedar Point (in Ohio). But Disney is so much more than that:goodvibes My favorite trips so far have been when each of my kids were 4 years old. When my 4 year DD met the princesses they were real to her. When my oldest son was 4 he loved Buzz and it was incredible to watch his face when he met his idol. And the trip we just finished, watching my youngest hug an Ewok was the highlight. You were so right to take them while they still believe in Magic:wizard: (Some of us never stop believing:goodvibes)

Honorary princesses for the day.:cloud9: And what perfect little princesses they were. Great job with the princessy hair and sweet dresses mom.:thumbsup2 I love all of your photopass pictures, but I think my favorite is the closeup of the girls hugging. Maybe because I have two girls of my own and I love when those sister moments are captured.:goodvibes

Oh, I'm so sorry you were too full to really enjoy Le Celier. We really enjoyed our meal there.

See, your experiences are a perfect example of why so many of us love Disney! Andy gets to play the Beast and the girls get to be princesses for the day all in one day and on your first trip! You just can't beat Disney magic!!! :goodvibes

Oh my! This is one of the cutest photos I have seen on the Dis!!

I am having a great time planning our FIRST trip!! I am kind of "type A" so i have everything technically planned. Just waiting on December hours to be released. Do you recommend Park hoppers for our first trip or just focus on one day at a time?

I agree. I hate seeing little girls too made up. Although, I'm sure they would have loved the pampering at BBB, too. :)

I always do think it's a little funny when people say they are going to wait until there kids are old enough to ride all the rides. I get that if you're going to Six Flags or Cedar Point (in Ohio).

Exactly! Our closest amusement parks are Adventureland in Des Moines and Worlds of Fun in KC. I must admit, before I read that article in the parent-type magazine, that's all I thought Disney was, too.

Those sound so magical. I just love the shots in your TR of your youngest hugging every Ewok he finds! :lovestruc

Yeah, Disney has me believing in magic more than ever!

It was so special for us. Thank you for the compliments. I wanted to get the fancy princess dresses, but they're too itchy for the girls, so I found these online at the Disney store.

I love all of your photopass pictures, but I think my favorite is the closeup of the girls hugging. Maybe because I have two girls of my own and I love when those sister moments are captured.:goodvibes

I think that one is my favorite, too. I just hung it up by my desk at work last week. I find myself staring at it a lot.

Good sister moments are priceless, aren't they! Seem far and few between when they're at each others necks!

Oh, I'm so sorry you were too full to really enjoy Le Celier. We really enjoyed our meal there.

It wasn't completely ruined. The taste of the food was wonderful. I just think we would have enjoyed it more if we were actually hungry when we sat down for supper.

See, your experiences are a perfect example of why so many of us love Disney! Andy gets to play the Beast and the girls get to be princesses for the day all in one day and on your first trip! You just can't beat Disney magic!!! :goodvibes

Right on! :thumbsup2 I'm becoming a total sucker for Disney Magic, too! This day had some of our best moments of our trip.

Planning is so much fun, isn't it? It's good to have things pencilled out, just be willing to go with the flow if your schedule gets a bit off. We were going to catch Storytime with Belle on our arrival day. We got to naps late, so we had to skip it. I figured we had missed out, but we were able to squeeze it in on our second MK morning. I highly recommend Tour Guide Mike if you haven't checked it out already.

As far as park hoppers - we got them for flexibility. Honestly, the only reason we used them was due to suppers at Epcot. I think next time we go, we'll get the park hoppers again.

Ask away with any other questions that come up!
