NurseBabe, I've told you this privately in PM's but I'll restate it here even at the risk of incurring the wrath of all your anxious audience members: do this at your pace, still spend time with your family, still post on your regular threads, still do your regular chat sessions. This should be FUN for you, not feel like a J-O-B.Thank you Cheryl. I needed a short reprieve.![]()
*******************************************ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYMFCAb/c when you're a hotT college chick, things like this are everyday occurrences. Lisa, I guess we taught her well.![]()
ok, I'm outta here. Working diligently.

What does PMs mean? What other threads?
You do not look like a hotT college chick in this picture. You look about 12. How do you do that? Lasers? Exfoliants? Chemical peels? Whatever it is...it's amazing!
How does the mommy guilt get to us when we should be having a great adult time? I'm guilty of this too!He keeps hollering and screaming and his laughter is causing me to have the giggles. AND it makes me miss my own kiddos.mommy guilt is creeping back.
Did you know that Mr. Depp, being the good son he is, bought his mama a farm right outside Lexington? And he visits her there? We have now added to Mr. Depp's retirement fund by buying way too many souvenirs for me. heh heh. I mean dd.![]()
Just caught up a little and wanted to comment before I continue......

Hi, Elisabeth, great report, thanks for sharing!!
I'll have to make it to Chef Mickey's someday![]()
Actually, I do believe I have a dinner date there in September. I'll keep an eye out for PJ!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does she know the TFW signal??
Wow! A lot of quote-worthy comments in this post...(1,2,3,4) Now, technically Florida is a southern state, but I've been told that anything from Orlando south isn't really "southern". If they are a southern state, then you would think they would know how to make great biscuits and gravy. the biscuits weren't too bad, but Mr. T and GoDaddy can back me up on this one, the gravy was in one word...unedible.I was soooo disappointed. I LOVE comfort food. Biscuits and gravy is (are?) way up on my list, but Mr. Trollop and I have high standards when it comes to southern cookin'. His grandmother is one of the best cooks I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. She grew up deep in KY on a farm with lots of siblings. She was in charge of cooking. My mouth is watering right now thinking about her fried potatoes, fried okra, beef & noodles, vegetable soup. If it ain't fried and slathered in lard or butter, it's not worth eating in her opinion. yum-my. OH, and don't get me started on her desserts.
(5) Also, my mom used to make us a big breakfast on Saturday mornings. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, and yup, biscuits and gravy. I may have to interrupt this TR to go make some right now.
(6) Maybe my standards really are too high in the gravy department. Oko, I will openly admit it. I have high gravy standards. There. I said it. Deal with it and move on.
(7) I sit back down and take a bite of the Krispy Kreme expecting ecstasy, but sadly this was not the case. Day old donut. I promise I'm not a picky eater. I eat practically anything and anywhere. Maybe my lack of sleep was causing my taste buds to be grouchy. Or maybe I was expecting the hot fresh, melt in your mouth donuts that are sold at a local mom and pop donut shop. That place is of the devil, I tell ya. They lure you in with their aroma of freshly baked apple fritters, bearclaws, creme filled, custard filled, glazed, frosted, and most importantly chocolate covered. My favorite is the chocolate covered-creme filled combo.
(8) The brownie was actually truly scrumptious, truly truly scrumptious..(sing it with me) I snapped a pic before I inhaled it and washed it down with a little Diet Coke. of course.
(9) After a promise to meet the GoDaddy family for a UT football game this fall, we left their lovely company. (Well, Peej, didn't make that promise. I don't think football ranks high on her priority list.) They were headed to Epcot.
you know the more I think of it, the more I think dh did pinch me before they snapped that pic. Look at how I'm standing, almost like somebody startled me. Such a little smartypants.
P.S. Twink: Do you see the matching GoDaddy family tshirts. Notice, they are not matchy matching, b/c that would be just plain crazy.![]()
Wow! A lot of quote-worthy comments in this post...
1. I had this very same discussion with PJ about Florida's "southerness" (especially Central and South Florida as you said) in relation to crawdad eating.
2. In my last five trips to WDW, I have never, ever been able to find decent B&G on Disney property at a Disney restaurant. To show how bad Disney's B&G is, I even got some at the McDonald's near All Star Sports one morning just so I could have some that were at least tolerable. It is a huge disappointment especially for those folks who live in parts of the country where B&G aren't as readily accessible and that is one of their few chances to eat it. This also seems to be the common view on the DIS's Restaurants board when this topic comes up there.
3. is/are -- either one in this case is possible, depending upon your meaning. If you were referring to the B&G dish itself, "is" is what you would want to use. If you were referring to biscuits in general and gravy in general being high on your list, "are" is what you would want to use. Thus endeth the lesson.
4. Are you sure your DH's grandmother isn't my maternal grandmother?Except for the Kentucky (for him) vs. central Missouri (for me) thing, it sounds like the same person. This is one reason I still make sure to get to Grandma's house at least once a month for lunch during my workweek.
5. (interrupt the trip TR): Me too. Either that or get some in the morning.
6. You should have high gravy standards! If you ever find yourself in the KC area, "The Corner Cafe" in Kansas City (about two miles from my house though I do have to go through one stoplight to get there -- so not as close as the Steak n' Shake
) and also in Riverside and "The Big Biscuit" in Independence have excellent, excellent, B&G. You will NOT be disappointed at any of those places unless you order the 1/2 serving of B&G and then you will be disappointed that you didn't order the full serving. (Oh, and more hidden, the cafeteria in the United States Courthouse in downtown KC also has excellent B&G but most people don't find their way into the courthouse very often.) As far as gravy itself goes, Stroud's here in KC cannot be beat but they are only open for dinner and weekend lunch so no B&G at Stroud's.
7. Never identified them as Krispy Kreme's before. Wonder if that is a new vendor. Either way, sadly, this is another area I have always found lacking at Chef Mickey's (though good pastries can definitely be found at WDW -- just not in Chef Mickey's apparently).
8. I wish I could sing it with you. I do know all the words but people make fun of me when I sing showtunes.![]()
9. Actually, I think P&J may have made that promise. Or at least she thinks she did. (shh!) I'm pretty sure there is a whole set of posts on the DIS where she said she agreed to go to a football game with you and then discussing said football game.
