Well, it is official, I am finally dragging my friend and neighbor to Disney. She has a really tight budget, so this trip is my homage to inexpensive Disney Trips.
We are driving a little over 12 hours on Sunday, May 2nd and hopefully arriving around 3 p.m. to HOJO where we will share a Disney View room in Tower One. The kids will get to play in the pool/pirate's cove
and we mommas will soak in the hot tub.
On the trip we will be eating out of our magical cooler filled with things like boiled eggs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit, nuts, veggie sticks, instant oatmeal, cheese sticks, pop tarts, and hummus. The very large thermos (2.5 gallon) will be filled with ice water for the road trip and so food and beverage costs should be kept to an absolute minimum. We are also bringing along a few extra flavors of Keurig coffee and a nice coffee creamer to ensure really good breakfast coffee and very happy mommies.
They did Give a Day Get a Day for tickets and my baby is still free, so ticket costs are zero.
We are planning on watching the fireworks on Sunday Night from our balcony just before we tuck little people in bed and then hitting the park on Monday, May 3.
We will wear our Camel Packs to provide fresh cold water (actually crystal light to mask the flavor of California water) and brining in food/snacks. We will do a commando day in the parks and I will introduce them to the wonders of fast pass and ride max planning.
When they kick us out of the park we will amble back to the hotel for one more night of rest in our very comfy beds before we head back to the real world on Tuesday, May 4th.
We are scheduling $250 for gas, $190 for the hotel, $30 for food we take with us and $20 for dole whips and pressed pennies. So, for less than $500 we will get a Disney Vacation for two tired Moms and their assorted kids! Seriously, couldn't be happier.
So, if anyone will be in the parks on Monday, May 3rd, we will be the blond women with a gaggle of kids all dressed in Irish T-shirts and Kelly green hats. Feel free to say "howdy" but if you want to talk, you will have to walk and talk because we have a schedule to keep
