Hey,
We heard that there is two endings to the Great Movie Ride. One is a gangster ending or a western ending. We go on the ride just to see the different ending but we have never seen the western ending. We have seen the gangster ending every single time we went on. Has any one ever seen the western ending? Is there such thing as a western enging?

Thanx for the help!

I think you're referring not to the ending but rather the point fairly early on where you will be "hijacked." The ending itself has always been the same as far as I can recall. Who knows what it will be like after the refurbishment.

Yes there is a western ending and talk real nice to one of the ride ops and they might let you wait on the western ending. There is only one cart that does it.

That's cool. I had heard about that and I think I recall seeing it once but I dont really remember. I'll have to make sure to do that when I go in 94 days!

Just to clarify, the section in question makes up the middle section of the Great Movie Ride. The Western and Gangster scenes take up the same amount of time and play simultaneously, allowing for two ride vehicles to procede through the same storyline at once, and giving a bit of variety for repeat guests.
IMHO, the Gangster scene is much better. Better figures, better audio, and funnier... The Western is nice, but it's missing something that I can't put my finger on exactly.
Regardless of whether your vehicle is hijaked by a bootlegger or a bank robber, the temple scene is virtually identical, save the vernacular used by the unfortunate criminal. If GMR is running two vehicles (that's 4 cars total) when you are there, just ask the CM loading to seat you in whichever section you would like. You may have to wait for the next set of vehicles, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Wow that is so cool, I can't believe all the times we have been on the GMR we have never caught the western theme. I bet when we go in May it's going to be too slow to have 4 cars going at once. But thanks for sharing, ya think you know everything and wham out of the blue something new (not really new just unknown)

Ok...we saw the western scene...now I am gonna miss the ganster one. RATS!!
We are not going back till 2004.

I agree with Safari Steve that the gangster version is better. Don't quite know why either. I'm sad that it's closed right now. We're going to miss it.

We have only done this ride twice, once in 2000 and the second this past Dec. Our 1st time, we had the western theme. When we went last year, we all just assumed that they changed the ride when the gangster appeared! I never knew there were 2 versions of it!

I like the Gangster one better than the Western, so of course I almost always end up getting the Western.

To get to one storyline (I think its the gangsters ) when you the theather where the zig-zags are go towards the back sections of zig-zags and for the other one make a left when you enter the theather and go next to the wall and start turn into where thoses zig zags start!!!!

I hop this makes sort of sense I know what I want to say but sometimes it doesn't come out the way I planned:jester:

Just when you thought you knew it all. I have always ever seen the gangster scene. Now, I can't wait to go on it again and try to get the western scene. Thanks for the info on that one.

We have seen both versions but we always say we generally get the "Gangsters". I think I can count on one hand the number of times we have seen the Cowboy version.

I thought I was so smart telling my DD about the western theme, and she's like a duh Mom we've seen it at least twice:rolleyes: so maybe that's why I never get tired of WDW everytime I go it's like seeing for the very 1st time:cool:
