Two Delicious Birthdays-Version 2011-10 Days of Yum 5/5-5/14 - Tutto / Yak n Yeti!

Glad you're feeling well enough already to enjoy your dinner at Ohana and, of course, Shula's! :goodvibes
Can't wait for more reports :thumbsup2

Really enjoying your reviews! Really gorgeous picture of you two, by the way!!

Totally understand why you couldn't take pictures at Shula's but it kind of makes me not want to go there...I need to take my pics ;)

Can't wait for more!

Oh Thanks :cutie: If you get the opportunity... definately go there. Maybe we can get those little incognito cameras the spies use, lol.

I was wondering how Shula's was there. DH and I went in Key West and we loved it!!:cloud9: Actually went twice in four days.

Then we went in Richmond and it wasn't quite as good. I couldn't decide if it was the food or that they allowed smoking in the restaurant. I hadn't been in a smoking-allowed restaurant in years!

The reviews are great! Keep em coming!:thumbsup2

Thanks! <3 Shula's!

Yay!

I'm in!

Great job so far!

Thanks!!

SHula's sounds SO yummy! Can't wait for more!

It was... mmm... I want it again in November!!

I'm in-loving it so far. :thumbsup2

Thanks!!

I'm loving the review!!!

More to come later this week. I'm so exhausted, I know I'm going to pass out when I get home tonight :) Maybe tomorrow, definately Thursday, Friday and Saturday!!

______________

Thanks all for reading along!! The weekend got busy, sleep got messed up, and tonight I'm going to pass out. I was looking at what I posted so far and you can def. see the difference between my iphone pix and my digi cam pix. Crazy difference in detail!! Next up is our first time at Rose and Crown!! Sneak Preview... we already have it booked for dinner in November :wizard:

love reading your reviews, especially Shulas. Sounds like we had the same girl at the podium.

I loved the peach ginger ice tea too. You should have saved room for the chocolate souffle. It was great!

I think Shulas also has the best crab cake. I rally dont care for the one at Captains Grille, but the Flying Fish one is good too.

Looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews

Love your reviews so far! Shulas sounds awesome...you should have gone to The Fountain while you were at the Dolphin, rather than trekking around for dessert! They have great sundaes and other treats there :thumbsup2

Hi, glad I found your post. I met you and your DF at the proposal on Monday night. Can't wait to read more about your dining experiences.

I visited in May for a work conference. Now I'm heading back next Friday with Mom (to celebrate her 60th birthday), my dad's sister and her daughter. My aunt and cousin haven't been there in 15 years, so I'm excited to be tour guide this time around. We're planning Imperium Food & Wine (in Celebration, restaurant.com certificate), HOB for lunch, Rose & Crown for dinner/Illuminations on Saturday, Mama Melrose before Fantasmic and Il Mulino for Mom's birthday on Monday!

Keep your reviews coming!!!

P.S. When is the wedding? Did you decide yet if it will be in Disney?

Joining in!!! I'm loving it so far! I've never been to any of these places so far. I'm about 2 weeks out from my trip and want to cancel ADRs and switch! :lmao: With 3 little ones, these places will have to wait a few years, though. :cutie:

You're making me so hungry! Looking forward to reading more!

Awesome! I'm glad you found me!! Our wedding is November 5, 2012 at Disney's Wedding Pavilion! We're so excited!! We're going back for Food/Wine in November and staying at BCV--Love it! Hope you had a great trip!!

We're trying to get the signatures, etc in as much as we can, because we know in a couple years we won't take a baby in there until they're old enough to behave, lol. It's hard not to switch, but you also don't know in November what you'll want to eat in May, lol. Thanks for reading!!

So the next morning, we packed up, called a taxi and made our way to Kidani. From SSR's Grandstand to Kidani was $22 + tip and it was worth every penny for convenience. We checked in, the room wasn't ready, but it didn't matter because we had a full day planned. We got our KTTW cards with the DxDDP and we were on our way to Epcot.

We made our way back to the World Showcase and checked in at Rose and Crown about 45 minutes early. They said it would be closer to our ressie time and that the buzzer would work anywhere in the UK. Well I LOVE tea, so I went straight towards the tea shop. I barely got to look around before the buzzer when off. Why do they act like it would be a 45 minute wait and just wait till I walk away to buzz me?? I think they do it for comedic purposes. We had never been here, so this was new for us. We were seated in a half booth/half chair by the bar. Wild animal children kept leaning over the barrier and almost hitting Dave. They were also banging on the window that was next to me--kind of annoying--but kids are kids.

Our server clearly had an accent and said that they have all soft drinks, root beer, and no iced tea. I didn't hear the "no" part and asked for an iced tea  :lmao: :rotfl: I settled on a coke and we took a few minutes to check the menu.

Dave got the Potato and Leek Soup... this was delicious!! I kept asking for bites, lol. I would get this next time!! I was unsure of the word leek, lol... so I went against it--this is why I should expand my horizons!

I went with the Shrimp Cocktail with the sauce on the side. It was okay, but I didn't love it--I think I really wanted the soup instead.

IMG_1239.jpg

Dave said he had to try the Fish and Chips since he was in the UK, lol. It was very good, and I kept stealing his fries, lol.

IMG_1240.jpg

I got the Sunday Roast... I was between that or the steak, but I LOVE beef but don't cook it well myself so I took the opportunity :) I got the sauce on the side since I'm weird about sauces. I realllllllly liked my meal. I mean, I loved it. Dave said the meat was dry and needed sauce, but I'm a dry meat type of girl so I thought it was amazing. I would get this again :)

IMG_1241.jpg

Dave got the signature R&C dessert... sticky toffee pudding. He pretty much licked the plate. Thanks to our dis'ers for recommending it!!

IMG_1242.jpg

I love all things lemon, so I went with the Lemon Pie. Yes, I'm aware this is nothing more than lemon merengue pie, but it was one of my favorite desserts the whole time. Sometimes the simplest things are the best... this was just fabulous--I'm craving it now!

IMG_1243.jpg

We enjoyed this meal and booked it for dinner in November. I'll definately get the soup, and for sure getting the lemon pie! So glad we tried this!!

Then we had time to kill before the dismeet so we went to Italy to get a Bellini. I've heard good things about it, and I'm new at drinking, and I discovered I'm not a fan of dry... this was dry... and I didn't like it, lol.... but I drank it. Tipsy pants. I also got a peach tea at the Italy kiosk for later... and let me tell you... there was no tea in this... only peach, and sugar, and more sugar. I can't recommend it to anyone, lol.

Well at least I got a little update tonight!! I'm off tomorrow night and have a wedding dress fitting, but after that, it's review time!!! Enjoy your Friday everyone!!

I'm glad I found your dining review! Everything looks delicious so far! Rose and Crown looks really yummy, I ate there once but that was about 7 years ago now. I studied abroad in the UK for a semester and I'm not sure if going there would bring back the good memories or if I would be all stuck up and feel like it wasn't the same! :rotfl: I'm also a big tea lover and I'm looking forward to visiting the tea shop in the UK pavilion. I can't tell you how much tea I had in my suitcase when I came home from spending hour months in England :rotfl2:

Yay, you found me!! I would give it a try again if you could :) You could at least swap stories with the waitstaff :) We went nuts in Mickey's Pantry getting all kinds of tea, lol. I've been so busy since we got back I haven't even unpacked it yet!! I'd love to go over there some day!!

I'm in - does Shulas have a dress code - thinking maybe next year when we go and stay at the Beach Club. The kids love steaks - is sharing a steak allowed as they all sound pretty big.

i'm pretty sure you can share there! i'm almost positive. there is a dress code, just like the signature restaurants. there's a dish called steak mary anne which is 2 filet medallions that would probably be perfect for 2 kids to split!! you'll LOVE the beach club!! happy planning!

You just got my hubby excited about Rose and Crown! I threw that one in the mix for Oct since we have never eaten there before and he was leery about it but when he saw the dried meat he was hooked...that is how he likes it too!
