two days away from 7th month and i can see it slipping away

going for 5 days oct 14th to the 19th need a 2 bed room......i have enough points to grab the week starting the 12th so i have that going for me......first choice is VWL and then AKL....today is the big test going to fill out the weeks for people going Saturday to Saturday. Already VWL dropped the 10th for the 2 bed room so that locks out anyone else booking the rest of the week until tomorrow. it seems that at both resorts the early part of the holiday weekend has booked up but not the sunday night into the off day of monday. sucky part is i have a small 30 pointer at VWL that i have banked and can borrow for booking 2 nights again not sure if i should book 2 nights today what two nights should i book i guess the last 2 or should i not bother bc demand could taper after the holiday on monday? ugggg i hate going this time of year and will never do it again but had to work around family schedules......any advice on if i should use my points for booking the last 2 nights?

Book at your home resort? I am not saying that to be mean, it just might prevent you from being homeless during that time period. October is really crazy this year even more so than last year which was bad. Resorts are booking up day by day. And I find it hard to believe that that many of us are walking reservations. SSR is usually available. And it really is a nice resort.

October can be mad busy I'd book at my home resort.

From late Sept through early January (after the marathon), it can be hard to get a non-home resort at seven months out. Book your home resort to make sure you have something. Or rent out your points and buy someone else's points and use them at 11 months out.

If you're saying someone JUST BOOKED THE 10th ONLY they didn't lock out everyone because an owner can book still and take those next days anytime. At 7 months booking the first day will not hold the room for the next day.

i know they can but I assume the owners got there reservations in before the 7th month free for all starts. Is have a lot of factors Columbus day is Monday so it's a "Holliday" weekend. Also poly is open so people will be hitting that hard. Also bcv, bwv, BLT, vgf are all sold out for that week already. I just hate a few days before the 7th month.

I feel your pain. I am also going in October. I have already booked in our home resort, but I was hoping to upgrade but it seems like that may not work out. I can rebook on Sunday so we will see what I can get.

well i might have a good shot......VWL is now not open for Sunday the 11th with the rest of the week open so my Monday to Monday reservation right now has a shot at 8am. AKL still has openings also i should at least have a real shot.....but it will be a stressful 8am hour in my house tomorrow!

The holiday weekend is the worst and will taper off and I think you have a very good shot for VWL and a better than good shot for AKL.

well all the worrying and stress is all gone now.....i got the VWL for the week! now i will be tossing back the first two days since we only need 5 days but i will call ms this weekend to shorten the trip....WOW

Glad to hear it worked out! I think too that we need to remember that some people are going to free up rooms at a resort we might want because they want to go somewhere else but booked home resort in case they can't! I am still hoping that shifts will happen and I will get my wait list for a BWV studio, garden view, for October 11th. Been on a wait list about 2 months (yes, its my home resort) but was already booked by the time DH and I decided to visit. We currently have Friday and Saturday and will only be doing two nights, but for work and flight purposes, Saturday/Sunday works better!!! Of course, I am also stalking the website!!!
