Two days at HS or MK?

This is related to a thread I posted below, but kind of a separate question, so I figured I'd start a new thread to ask it. If you had 5 park days (no hoppers) and wanted to do each park once, plus a repeat day at one of the parks, would you choose HS or MK for your repeat day?

For more info, HS will (ideally) be packed with lots of extras! Savi's, Ogas, Droid Building, and RoTR ILL$ are on our wishlist. At MK, our only reservation would be for Skippers Canteen at dinner. We'll have Genie+ for both parks and are planning to rope drop (with early access as we're staying on site). Kids are 2, 8, 11. Would you repeat MK due to the number of rides and attractions, or repeat HS so we can spread out all our reservations across two days?

we would choose a 2nd day af MK. HS has been so packed that we didn't really enjoy our
downtime there, where at MK it seemed we had a lot more options of less popular rides, snack options etc.

I agree with the PP, MK has more options for food, drink and snacks and much more rides available as well to fill your day.
HS is too full on now, long lines at all the rides and limited food and drink options IMHO🙄

We are in the same boat, and are planning on doing HS twice for a few reasons:
  • We've never been to HS before so we're less familiar with that park and would like to hit all the main rides/attractions there at least once during this trip to get an idea of which ones are worth prioritizing for future trips.
  • Related to the above point, since reported wait times are nutty nuts at HS right now, we will likely need two days at HS utilizing G+ and possibly even rope dropping to hit everything.
  • Having been to MK before, we have a good idea of which rides our kids will enjoy and which ones can be skipped this time around, so our park plan for MK will be leaner and require less time to hit everything we want.
  • We're staying at a skyliner resort, so taking a mid-day break at HS is more accessible and quicker which minimizes the down time we will have there compared to MK where we'd have to wait longer for busses each way. (This might be the biggest reason for us doing HS twice for our repeat day.)

Thank you for these thoughts, I guess this makes sense as to why everyone recommends two days at MK! It's my husband and my first time at WDW in a long, long time (think 25+ years) and the first time bringing our kids, so don't really know what to expect (except crowds and heat, lol!) I appreciate hearing what it's like at the different parks and you're definitely making me lean towards just one day at HS. I think as long as we don't get our hopes up to ride every single ride, it'll still be a good day!

Thanks, this makes sense too! For us, it's essentially our first trip (DH and I haven't been in 25+ years, kids have never been) so it's all brand new to us. We're also staying at a skyliner resort (CBR :cool2:), but considering how packed our HS day is going to be, I doubt we'll be able to get back to the resort for a mid-day break. We are taking a rest day mid-trip where we can relax and enjoy the resort amenities, though!

If you haven't been to any of the parks in 25 years, you will almost certainly be better off doing 2 days at MK since it's bigger and there is so much more there to do.
