Two Chicks and...a Mouse!~ADRs, a wedding, and Property Virgins? 9.25.09

Since we all seem to be planning trips...what are YOUR must-have Road Trip Tunes?

princess:

Well...we basically listen to Christian music. We LOVE Toby Mac. So we have to have that. We also like Gritts and KJ-52. Individual songs, I like Shackles by Mary Mary, Talk About it by Nicole C. Mullin, and I'll Join the Rocks by FFH. I was just thinking that it was time to beef up the tunes again, so I need to get thinking on this one...this is good.

I love to sing and have an alto voice. So I really enjoy anything Rita Springer.

DS really loves the sound of "Oh Johnny oh Johnny" from the Chronicles of Narnia. So I'm working on finding more of that sound for him.

Also kid-oriented, I'm thinking about getting the Magic Tree House Musical CD. We got single songs on a give-a-way that Wendy's did a while back and it sounds really good.

We really like listening to books as well. Not exactly a tune, but something to listen to. Many of the audio books are somewhat acted out, with sound effects and everything, so it's very entertaining.

Life is a Highway was my BFF's and my theme song in high school -- we couldn't go anywhere without belting out a rendition of it! :rotfl:

I know there is some Caedmon's Call on this playlist somewhere. I love me some Caedmon's Call. I like audiobooks too, but I love, love, love singing along with the radio, so I tend to stick to music. I do listen to audiobooks at work sometimes. Heh...I don't sing along at work. :rolleyes1

Life is a Highway, it's just one of those songs, isn't it? What roadtrip can be complete without it? Have you heard the Rascal Flatts version? It's very good. :)

Got some good tunes, but I've only heard of three of them :) I know you will be happy and good luck on TBM.

I do too! I am kind of obsessed. I typically don't like every song on a cd, but this one, I actually do. :)

I like Taylor Swift too...easy on the eyes but also a very talented singer...I like the song Love Story!! Is that what it's called? I hear it on Sirius Hits 1 ALL the time.

Just from those 10 songs it looks like you have a pretty good playlist! Add me to the Taylor Swift bandwagon. I LOVE every song on that whole CD. Oh and I picked up the OneRepublic CD on Saturday and I can't stop listening to it. Like the Taylor Swift CD I love every song! That usually never happens...and I mean never!

You must be getting so excited for TBM! I know I would be! :woohoo:

1300 miles! :scared1: Every summer, we drive out to central Ohio, where I have some family, and that's a 12 hour, 700+ mile drive. I'm so glad that you're going to have your mom with you, though.

Road trip tunes...hmmm. I grabbed my iPod to see what I have on my "on the go" playlist. A few Backstreet Boys songs (it's okay, you can point and laugh...I was obsessed with them in middle school :lmao: ), and a bunch of songs by Brand New, Fall Out Boy, Dropkick Murphys, and the Killers. Oh, and Rock the Casbah by the Clash. I love singing along to that one.

Are you going to post some more of your road trip songs?? I found a few from your list that I need to get. ;)

I just wanted to say that I love your PTR! I thought I was the only chick that took her bestie to Disney World! You guys will have an awesome time!

Love the title!

Shannon

I have heard that one -- my BFF and I joked when it first came out that we knew we were getting old when our theme song from high school became the theme song for a Disney movie. :rotfl:

I know there is some Caedmon's Call on this playlist somewhere. I love me some Caedmon's Call.

I really enjoy the lead singers voice! I totally forgot Third Day! I LOVE his voice. WOW. Caedmon's Call did a colaboration with many others called City on a Hill. Ever listen to that one?

Yeah, that is the single from her new CD. The whole cd is very good, if you are interested in listening to it! :)

I haven't! *wonders if I can get away with youtube while at work...* :rolleyes1

Haha. Possibly?!

It is pretty good. The guy in the video is Stephen Colletti from Laguna Beach..I don't know if you ever watched that show. But, I think that Stephen should've been in the "Hey Stephen" song video instead of this one!

I am getting VERY excited about TBM! Especially when I look outside and see snow, and think, it's in the 60s and 70s down in Texas. LoL. I like OneRepublic too...I know there is at least one song on my road trip play list of theirs!

Laugh at your Backstreet Boys? NEVER! DIE-hard N'SYNC fan right here!! When I was in middle school, it was practically all I listened to. And, when their "greatest hits" cd came out a few years ago, Kelly and I had a mini-dance party at her place. It's true. Not ashamed, at all. I think I am going to go download Rock the Casbah. I love the Clash, but I don't have that one. Fall Out Boy too. :lovestruc

I will def. post some more songs from my playlist. I love swapping tunes!

Ha ha, thanks and welcome! And Kelly and I are wicked excited about this trip. We've both only ever been to WDW with family (save for my dance team trip) and so this is going to be great!

Old? No way! Appreciated for your clearly excellent taste in music? Of course! ;)

No, but I will check it out! I love the MercyMe compilation. And MercyMe themselves. :) The lead singer of Caedmon's Call does have a really great voice. I got to see them live once when they opened for Jars of Clay. I have a friend (well, exBF to be honest) who sings exactly like him. :)
