Has anyone ever rented two cars at the same time using their Emerald Club card? I have a group of family going to MCO this weekend and we need two cars. I have contacted both National Corporate and National in Orlando and got two different messages about this rental. Just wondering if anyone has done this. Also I want to make my Father in Law an additional driver on one of the cars!

I just love to push the envelope with these companies! National Corporate doesn't know how it can be done and National at MCO says that there will be no problem as long as I am the primary renter on both cars.

I will return to this thread after my rental and report my experience back to the group.

I don't think you can do this. You can't be the primary on both cars. But then who knows but they will allow you to do.

Trust me... it will let you make the reservations, but when you go to pick up car two all kinds of crisis will occur. One of my coworkers tried this. It took over an hour to get the car transferred to someone else on the team. (We were there for quite a while and I threatened to beat the idiot who did this.... He was trying to get free rentals for his honeymoon!)

Also, I think Father In law as the second driver costs more money.

When I spoke to National in Orlando he said that adding my Father in Law to one of the cars is $7.00 per day extra. That is fine for us.

I explained that I need two cars and that I am the only one with an Emerald Club card in the family. I also reminded them that my wife can drive any rental I make for free according to their Emerald Club rules. This is the loophole I am going to us to get around renting two cars at the same time. They have two different contract numbers so there should not be an issue.

This will be interesting! :)

I have 2 cars reserved under my name for Nov. Would love to know the answer when you get back. I want to have my son drive the 2nd car (his address is still my house) since the rest of the family is flying in at different times. A few years ago I res. 2 cars and my husband drove the other one under my EC account, so I think this should work the same way. Have a great trip.

I am expecting this to go flawlessly. I am preparing for the worst though. Better to be prepared and not need it, that to be surprised.

I will report back my experience as well as any suggestions to ease the process if I have issues.
