Two bookings-same name

I booked a trip renting dvc points thinking my resale points wouldn't be activated in my acct in time. I can't do anything to change the rental reservation, but our dvc points came in and there is 1bedroom availability for a portion of our stay. Since we have points to burn (husband does not want to rent out points just yet) can I make another reservation for two or three days of our stay using our points so I can make use of the washer and kitchen in the 1 bedroom for several days? Will DVC allow that? TIA!

Yes, you can do what you are thinking of.
Make sure you have "Travel with" notice placed on both reservations, so that the room assigner CM knows that you are continuing your reservation.
You will still have to check out/in since I am assuming your rental reservation is a studio.

Thanks!!! Yes we rented the cheapest studio since we were paying OOP for it. Is the "travel with" notice something I need to email MS about?

Just to clarify I wanted to keep my studio rental reservation for the 7 days (sun thru sat) but in between those days (mon through weds) wanted to rent a 1 bedroom. So I guess I will have 2 ressies at the same time for our family for 3 days for our stay. Not sure if I conveyed that in my original post.

Usually they do not allow 2 rooms on same name. Since this will happen on two different membership you should not have problem. Just put you or your husband as a lead member different then first reservation (whoever is lead on studio should not be lead on 1 bed). Then call MS and let them know to put the request to resort for "thravel with", that way they will assign rooms close to each other.

By the way you can get free laundry in the building even if you stay in studio. Yes kitchen will not be available.

Also you can ask the owner of your original studio to convert to 1 bed for nights available for the points you use and make rest of the night with your points into 1 bed to have full time 1 bed availability.

Thank you so much for the clarification. I tried to contact the broker to change our ressie to convert to a 1 bedroom but it appears to be a difficult process and they'd charge another couple hundred dollars. I figure it's easier and cheaper just to leave it as is and use our points as is. But thank you all for your help!
