Two Big Kids Head To Disney For Their 1st Anniversary

Since I've been writing, I've started to actually call him DH. "DH can you grab the mugs from the dishwasher" or "DH do you need a nap?" Today he told me he wants me to start calling him CH "Crazy Husband". He is also threatening to hijack the thread and give you the REAL TRUTH. Brace yourself for "Crazy Husband" :upsidedow

Me&3, Thank you so much for reading. Only 2 days!! You must be getting so excited!!

Sorry for my presumption. Since I grew up so far North, I sometimes forget that there is still half a state below Orlando....this always felt so far away.

Crowds were still very heavy today. This is my first time coming to Disney in the summer, so crowds at this level are a new thing for me. I have a new-found appreciation for January and the less crowded parks around that time of year!! I may have to start training for the Disney marathon--it is scheduled for January and it would provide the perfect excuse to schedule another trip down here! ;)

Do your kids still love coming to Disney because they are able to visit so often? DH and I were talking about how spoiled are kids are going to be since we'll start bringing them to Disney when they are babies. Then we were wondering if they would get sick of it. This little mind of mine, loves to worry about the what-ifs.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Raglan Road we like it there too. We have done Disney in the summer not my favorite time because of the crowds and the heat :scared:. We will be doing the waterparks alot when we get there. We like to go in Oct. the crowds are down and the weather starts to get a little cooler. We like to go to the Food and Wine Festival. My DS's love it my oldest is 8 and has been going since he was 4 months old. My youngest is 2 yrs old and has been going since he was 2 months old. They think Disney is their second home :lmao: . They could write their own TR or even a book about Disney:rotfl2: . I am just now starting to pack :headache: not my favorite thing to do. But since we go so much some bags are always ready to go :scared1: . Hope you and DH are having a great day :goodvibes

Starting to pack...so sad. Our week at Disney was our best vacation ever. I will update on the second half of our week when we get back home. The last few days have passed so quickly, sorry for not giving updates. I needed to squeeze out every second of magic.

Planning to have one last lobster before we leave tomorrow. Lobster Roll for lunch at the yachtsman grill!! HAAA!!:rotfl2:

Glad to hear you enjoyed the spa at the Dolphin. We are booked for a couples massage there in two weeks time. I haven't found many comments on it so it was great to read a positive.

Bummer its time to head home:sad2:

After one last lobster, we bid farewell to our happiest place on earth and drove away on I-4. Rather than extending the pain of going home, we drove straight through. It took us just under 8 hours from Disney to our Doorstep. Not bad. I have a feeling we'll be driving on our next trip. We used our bikes several times during the second half of the week and bringing things like a case of water was really nice.

I spent the day, unpacking and organizing. Since we had a washer/dryer in our unit at the Boardwalk, I didn't have vacation laundry-woo hooo! Usually I'd be stuck in the role of laundress for the next two days. Loved being able to keep up with laundry during the trip.

I've got a touch of the post vacation blues. Our vacation was so nice and it is hard to come back to real life. I'll post the missing pieces of our trip report later this week.

Welcome home!! I would love to drive to Disney, but we live soooo far away, that it would take quite awhile! I am sorry that you have the post vacay blues!! I hate that feeling! I tend to cry on the plane ride home...lol Glad to hear you don't have tons on laundry to do, that is the worst part, trying to reorganize everything back into normal life.

Can't wait to hear some of the missing details.

Welcome home Beach Clubber!

Sounds like you made excellent time on your return trip. Which route did you take?

Looking forward to the last pieces of your report!

What a fantastic report so far! I can't wait until you are able to post some pics. Ahh....the Boardwalk :cloud9: Nothing quite like sitting out on the balcony just soaking it all in (well in your case, before you get soaked by that nasty raincloud :rotfl2: )

Can't wait to read about your review of Narcosses (sp). We have a boardwalk view 1-bedroom reserved for December and I simply can't wait!!

Happy Anniversary!!

EEK! I've been really bad about getting this trip report finished. Last week, I met my brother in New York and helped him apartment hunt (I'm a new stay at home wife--when I was working I hardly saw my family and never could have taken a week to go on an adventure with my little brother--Definitely counting my blessings!)

Return trip from Disney was actually pretty easy. According to Google Maps it was 548 miles from Disney World to Charlotte. I loved having room to pack things "we might need". We had our tennis rackets--never took them out of the car since it was too hot. We had our bikes--used those a bunch. Packed a case of water and a case of G2 gatorade--huge money saver.

Our route
I-4 West for 66 miles
I-95 N for 320 miles
I-26 W for 53 miles
I-77 N for 101 miles

DisneyJen: Good luck on your next drive down!!

:cheer2: I just finished booking our next trip to DISNEY!! We are going in March of 2009. My little brother starts his first real job post college in three weeks...he gets two weeks of vacation time per year....guess where he wants to spend one of these weeks...DISNEY WORLD WITH THE FAMILY...such a great 23 year old guy!

So the whole family is going together. Mom, Dad, DH, Little Brother, Little Brother's Girlfriend, and Me!

We'll be staying at a two bedroom villa at Beach Club. It used all of this year's points and we borrowed some from next year too but we figured this is a trip when we will all be together and you never know what schedules will be like next year.

Oh, I'm dancing. My Post Disney Blues are cured! :cool1:

:santa: Oh, presents!! I hadn't even thought about that part--You have to drive!! Even though being at Disney is a HUGE present, there is something special about opening a gift wrapped in christmas paper with your name on it.

Our family discussed going away for Christmas a few times over the years, it was always vetoed because we didn't want to miss out on those special moments in our home. But now that we have our DVC home-away-home maybe we will do it one year. If we were driving we could even bring some decorations.

You'll have to share photos if you decorate your unit! :santa:

This is our first Christmas away from home ... and while we will miss spending it with our two four-legged "daughters" we figure this was a good year as our DD turns 16 in November. All of our families are scattered throughout the US so we aren't ever all together at Christmas anyway.

We are participating in the Christmas Tree Swap ... so we will have at least on tree:santa: And who knows what the elves will make for good boys and girls:laughing:
