Is is very difficult for a non-DVC member to get a two-bedroom villa? I've been playing around with different options on Disney's web site and noticed that for most of the dates we're considering, there are no two-bedroom villas available at any DVC properties, much less at the two that we're considering. Once I'm more certain of our dates, I do plan to check into renting points, but I'm wondering what the chances of getting a two-bedroom villa is when booking 5-7 months out?

From Expedia last July, I booked a 2br at SSR for Thanksgiving(which lead us to become DVC members).

There are a small number of DVC resort rooms available to non-members, through CRO or sites like Expedia. DVC keeps a tiny percentage of the villas so they can switch rooms out for maintenance, and if members trade out of DVC for other resorts, the villas that they would have used end up in CRO's inventory.

Whether or not you can get a two bedroom villa 5-7 months out by renting from a member depends on a couple of things. First: the time of year you want to travel. Certain times of year (notably early December) are extremely popular among DVC members, and availability can be tough once you get to 7 months.

The other factor is the DVC resort you'd like to stay in. SSR and OKW are huge resorts, lots and lots of villas. You can often find availability there when the smaller DVCs (VWL, BCV, BWV) are booked up.

It's certainly worth a try; if you're not fussy about which resort you'd like to stay in, you may well be able to find something at 5-7 months.

Good luck!
