Two-bedroom villa? - parents and boyfriend

My dad's decided to book Victoria and Albert's for the first time and is taking me and my boyfriend. So I thought it would be nice to pay for the hotel for the night. I'm just not sure what type of hotel to book. I really like the one-bedroom villas and thought a two-bedroom could work. We would get the cheapest option (I'll be booking with cash through Disney not DVC) since it's only for one night. Only thing is my parents and my boyfriend haven't really spent much time together besides a few dinners, never done a trip with all of them. Is having them all under one room a good idea? There would be plenty of space with two bedrooms. Or should I book two separate hotel rooms? Is that possible with paying for their room, but not being on the reservation? Having them book and giving them money after would be a bad idea because they don't know the costs of these rooms and would get sticker shock and not want to stay there.

Book 2 regular rooms. The 2 bedroom is way more expensive than this option. You should be able to book both rooms and pay. I do this all the time through my travel agent and since deposit is one night and you are staying 1 night it should work fine. Worst case just add your name to parents reservation too.

The two bedroom villas are like $1000+ per night. Book two standard rooms somewhere instead. It would be SUPER awkward to stay in the same room with your parents and boyfriend if they are not already REALLY close. Just. No. Look into the Garden Wing rooms at the Contemporary. It is an easy monorail ride to GF and those rooms are pretty cheap compared to the other monorail resort standard rooms.

I'd go with two rooms as well. There's really no "cheapest option" when it comes to two bedroom villas, and since you won't need the kitchen or washer/dryer, all you're getting is a common living room. There are plenty of lovely public areas at any of the monorail resorts if you'd all like to hang out together.

You all make good points. Is it possible from the Disney website (when it's back to working properly) to make a hotel reservation putting my parents names only on the reservation, but do it through my account?

I know you said you want to book using cash, but DVC Rental Store has some amazing offers on discounted points right now. It may work out cheaper to rent from them for two studios.

I would look into the point rental, but from my understanding everything good is booked up either 11 or 7 months and everything I'm planning is in 3 months. The cash reservations still have availability at the resorts I want

Thats not always true. We actually booked a 1 bedroom at AKL & studio at BWV less than 30 days out. It doesn't hurt to ask. You may get lucky. :) But in the end, its up to you. Wherever you end up with be lovely.

You were very lucky.
