I currently have a two bedroom reserved at SSR for the first week of June. I would like to move it to BWV due to its proximity to MGM. Anyone had much luck getting a standard view, two bedroom at the 7 month mark? I have the points to do preferred if that is all that I can get. Also, a preferred view doesn't mean Broardwalk view does it? It can mean the pool or close to the elevator, right?

It's possible. Your odds will improve if you're willing to waitlist for individual days if you aren't successful on the first try. Call day by day as soon as your 7 month winodw opens. IMHO, the odds are better than 50-50 (in your favor).

No. Boardwalk view rooms are a separate booking category even though they cost the same as the other Preferred rooms. Ask at the 7 month window what availability looks like - you never know. A Boardwalk view 2 bedroom for the first week in June may very well still be available when you call.

Yes. There are rooms in all of the room categories at BWV that are close/not close to either pool (Luna Park or the quiet pool) and the elevators. Just make your request(s) when you make the reservation. List them in order of importance. Most people put their smoking/non-smoking request first. The room assigners do their best to give you what you prefer, even though they can't guarantee requests.

Best wishes -

Hope you don't mind my chiming in as I was asking about BW 2bdrms this morning too...So to get pool view in the preferred catagory it's 2 different booking catagories? All I see in the point chart is preferred view or standard view. How do you know for sure which you have booked? Do they note it at all on the ressie? I'd really like to have pool view but definetly do not want BW view.

The point "costs" are the same for either Preferred view. But MS will specifically tell you (and your printed confirmation will stated) whether you are guaranteed a BW view or Pool / Garden view.

The Pool / Garden view is much easier to come by than the BW view.

The two preferred categories at the BWV are:

Preferred view - Boardwalk view
Preferred view - Pool/Garden

As already noted, the point cost is the same.

When you call for your reservations just tell the CM that you want the Pool/Garden view. Then add your requests - view of Luna Park (main feature pool) or view of quiet pool, etc.

Best wishes -

The confirmation letter will say Boardwalk view if that is what you have. Believe it says Pool/Garden if you have that.

There are two point categories - Standard View (the rooms overlook the entrance - and Preferred View - all other rooms including those overlooking the Boardwalk.

Within the Preferred View points, there are two guarentees - Boardwalk View - your room will (barring unforseen circumstances) look over Cresent Lake, and Preferred View - which may have you overlooking everything from the Village Green (which some people think as nice or nicer than the Boardwalk View) to Luna Park, to the Quiet Pool, to the canal facing the Swan/Dolphin. Overlook may be a strong word for a lot of these rooms - you may "overlook" Luna Park in a ground floor room behind the Keister Coaster. You may put in a view request - a lot of DVCers will request "non smoking, quiet pool view, high floor" for instance - but a request is simply a request - it may or may not be met.

Although BW is the only resort to have a guarenteed view, other resorts guarentee dedicated vs. two bedroom lock offs or (at BCV) two queens in the second bedroom. BWVs only has lock offs and all of those have a queen and a pull out.

Perfect! That was actually my next question:teeth: Y'all are so great! That makes things easier as I'd be looking for the 2bdrm to be a lock-off and with the pull-out sofa as to afford my brother and his new wife some privacy but still be able to be together;)

Thanks so much everyone for the clarification ~ have stayed at OKW,BCV's and Vero over the years but believe it or not, still have yet to try out BWV's:crazy: Good thing I asked, I would've not realized to specify which view ~ would've thought I'd have to go with Standard to avoid BW view. I'm sure BW is pretty and all but kind of noisy for my taste.

Thanks so much again! :teeth:
