Lots of rumours out there about the new Twister replacement.

Latest I've read is that there will be a Soarin' type mechanism and the theme is based on 30 Rock.

You can read about it here... http://www.orlandounited.com/forums/showthread.php/9063-Next-Attraction-To-Go

further on in the thread.

Anyone else got any info?

The kidzone revamp seems to have been put on hold and the Twister revamp seems to be coming up next at Universal.

Of course, Kong is coming along well at IOA, so there are some interesting new things on the horizon.

heard the same thing ...but I also heard on another forum the Twister replacement was put on hold. They were originally going to start right after Christmas and close Twister, but last I heard it was on hold several months

I read that closing it has been put on hold until the pre-fabrication is closer to completion.

Selfishly, I hope they delay it until after May. I haven't seen it in a long time and want to take it in one more time.

I hope it's not like soarin! My whole family thinks that ride is terrible!

Fitting a Soarin' type building within the TWISTER show building footprint doesn’t seem doable; however clearance to raise the roof should be quite feasible. If the Music Plaza area is added in and they go with more of an audience pushed forward (Imax) setup, a two theater attraction may get wedged in. Add in a lift & tilt forward floor with shake/rock mechanism (think Avatar/ Soarin'); a solid story; a crowd eating preshow to help with a low throughput of 2 screens, a winning attraction could happen. :3dglasses

But I’d rather see Ghostbusters come back.

G’day

I too have little interest in another screen based attraction..I know the building footprint is small but a small dark ride , maybe one based on the Classic Universal monsters, would be nice
