Twister/Ghostbusters/ Hanna Barbara

I love Twister!

for me, twister is totally kewl.

there is more than just the preshow and twister set to look at when you are there. when you are inside the buidling, look around at all the objects that are secured around you. just like in the movies.


and, i dearly miss the ghostbusters. my kids lived and breathed them.

the biggest hoot was the outdoor beetlejuice meets the ghostbusters show.
i absolutely adored that show !!

i wept when they pulled that show............

Me and my family think Twister is SO boring too. Maybe it's cuz we're from North Carolina and deal with Twisters out here on a few occassions... but still... I LOVE earthquake, and was very disappointed with Twister. The whole thing looks so fake and sad... I loved Ghostbusters though, it was lighthearted fun, wish they had something like that return.

Our preferences are the exact opposite lol; we get them western PA too (they tend to call them microbursts ); hate to see Twister go - have never seen anything like it.

As for preshows, think after you've seen them a few times in the space of a few days they all tend to pale.

My problem with Twister is that its cool the first time, but I really have no desire to see it again.

Am I the only one who misses Alfred Hitchcock Presents? Now that is classic US to me =)

yea i remember alfred hitchcock.
liked it and really enjoyed murder she wrote with angela landsbury.
i by passed that attraction for a long time and finally took it in.
the following year, it went poof!

it was another enjoyable one for our family.

I LOVED the Alfred Hitchcock attraction and I have 17 of his movies! I liked when they asked you questions about the films in the lobby before you went into the theater. I miss the Psycho house too...it would be great during HHN!

We always enjoyed the Alfred Hitchcock show. Right before the show closed I was selected to play 'mama' in the show. Of course it was great to be a part of it, but for all the times we carried our camera with us, this was the one time that we decided we 'had enough' pictures. Lesson learned? You can never have 'enough' pictures!

I have pix from DH being chosen to participate in AH...will have to post them on the "now and then pics" thread when i get home. He was chosen to "fall off a building" and i could only take pictures of him on the video screen (that was where we were supposed to look at him "falling"..... will try to do that later today

What about the Terminator pre-show? I NEVER get tired of that one! I l;ove the subtle snarks at Spaceship Earth in the video, hee hee...and it's just a hoot overall.

I'm in the "likes Twister" camp...can't really get all that upset about King Kong being gone.

I really like the Twister attraction. It's been quite awhile since I've been to Universal so I'm glad to hear it's still there.

Love Hitchcock, love his movies. Miss the attraction! One time they chose my dad to dress up as the "mother." It's fun to tease my father about having pictures of "dad in a dress!"

I hate Jimmy so much that I never bothered to ride the ride. I remember as a teenager going through Nick at US. I was really sad to see them go away.

I know parks have to change but some changes are bad. I am not sure why twister. It was not even that great of a movie. We already have earthquake. Two natural event movies in one park=blah.

I hear that Back To The Future is going but I never see proof of that.

I hated the Twister attraction. I guess it probably has more to do with those of us that live in tornado alley then anything else. Of course it porbably didn't help any that the only time I went in to see it was the year after we experienced a massive tornado come through that wiped out a small town just 5 miles from my house. Unbelievable destruction & many deaths. Just didn't feel good being in there watching it faked.

I loved the Ghostbusters and really, really miss that show. Only got to see it one time. I also really liked the HB show but the chicken dance with JN is just to fun!

We always get a big kick out of the "chicken dance" as well. I liked Hanna Barbara but I also enjoy the new Jimmy Neutron version.

So sad about BTTF, though...I loved that ride.

For those of you who are still in love with the old Hanna-Barbera ride......it is still alive! The exact version of the motion movie is now being shown at Dollywood amusement park (owned by Dolly Parton) in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. I live around 2 hours from the park and went last week. They are currently having "kid's fest" and this attraction was featured. This attraction is normally a different type of motion ride but has been "re-themed" for kid's fest. It will return back to the original attraction after it is over. The name of the ride is something like "Yogi's wild ride" or something like that. The film used for the "ride" is exactly the same as was used in Universal's "Hanna-Barbera" attraction. They even use the pre-ride movie that shows Hanna and Barbera drawing Elroy Jetson.

Obviously the screen was not near as clear and the motion seats used were not nearly up to the standard of US.......but it was neat to step back in time and see the old movie.

Ok -going against the crowd but I love Jimmy (yes I understand the llama thing ) however I have never been to US or IOA, but I hate to say the family is looking forward to Jimmy-we are ghostbuster fans, and being an earth science teacher the twister thing seems cool-maybe I am overly optimistic?

Not overly otimistic at all! Both those rides/attractions are great! Twister is totally engrossing and so well done.

I'm from Oklahoma and would love to ride Twister. The movie seems tame to the reality of a real tornado.
I'm suprised that so many of you don't seem to like it. Why?
Do you sit still with things going on around you, ride through the attraction, what's it like?

It's a "show". You stand and they put the "twister" on in a "show" format (no people) in front of you. A tree "breaks" in half, a cow "flies" by, flames at a gas station.....etc.... You don't sit...not thru the queue nor the main attraction itself. Lots of tv screens with Helen Hunt and her co-star (name?) from the movie talking about the movie and how they made parts of it and it's their job to make the audience believe it..... At least Earthquake has a 'show' area you sit for and then a "ride" at the end.
