Hi
3 of us are travelling to LA on 2th Dec for a week, then onto Vegas for New Years, from the UK.

Any tips/hints/advice you can give for hotels/trip planning for Disney Land ....we want to be staying quite close and we havenever visited the Anaheim parks before.

Also what else is worth visiting in the area...I have heard that Knots Berry farm is a good day our...what about Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios...........

We are WDW veterans ...so would like to make the Disneyland experience one to remember..........

Thanks

You need to look up Hydro Guys tips and compilations stickey threads. Also Mary Jo's. Alot of great info for first time WDW vets.
I think my biggest suggestion for you is stay somewhere within walking distance. My favorite is the Grand Californian which is in the middle of everything. But it is expensive. It's kind of a cross between the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge IMO. But alot of others like the Disneyland or Paradise Pier for onsite hotels. A ton of people prefer stay off site in the Good Neighbor Hotels. The favs on this site seem to be, HoJos, Candy Cane Inn, Best Western Park Place, Tropicana, and a few more I can't think of right now. These all are within walking distance too. As a matter of fact, I think the Park Place and Tropicana are closer to the entrance, than the DLH and PPH! :rolleyes1

We prefer to stay on site when we can. We love walking down through DTD everyday to get to the parks. My kids also love the pools.

You are also going when all of the Christmas decorations are up, and the Holiday attraction overlays are done on HM and IASW. :cloud9: This year, Sleeping Beauty's Castle is suppose to get icicles and a ton of lights for the first time. It snows too after the fireworks. To a Californian like me it's fun!! It's the best time to go IMO.

Good luck on your choices. I think you will be amazed at how close everything is to each other. :goodvibes
