Twilight's Twisted Blood-Soaked Romance

I think that was an amazing speech. I never read/saw Twilight because it didn't seem interesting to me, but those are some very interesting statments about the series.

Overall, I thought it was great :)

Thanks! + Thanks for reading it!

Very good speech, Ive always found Edward to be creepy, among things that he did to her that you didnt metion: He Marries Bella young then inpregnates her with a demon baby

Oh why didnt bella go for Jacob, he was way more human than Edward and she would have had a happier, normal life. (don't judge me for that comment)

Thank you! Yeah the whole "demon baby" + birthing scene is waaaaay wrong :scared1: I would have gone over it in the speech, but I had limited time and it would have taken too long to explain and everything. I was just focusing on the aspects of their relationship that don't have to do with the fact that he's a vampire.

Jacob was a smarter choice for sure, he was alive, not 100+ years old, and not a stalker.

I just didn't type what I was going to because I just didn't feel the need to start an argument.

It wasn't troll-ish or anything...But a fight could have come out of it, so...Whatever.

Oh ok. I was like waiting....if you wanna message me then that's fine. I want to hear different opinions and it doesn't have to be a fight. Just understanding other people's points of view.

He didn't do that on purpose. He had no idea it could happen.
Plus, she was in love with Edward, so she wouldn't have been happier with Jacob.

True, he didn't. We're just discussing how it seems really disturbing.

But why was she in love with Edward?

Stalking would only be abusive if the person didn't agree to it.

For some (odd) reason, Bella likes him stalking her sometimes.

There is absolutely no excuse for Edward SNEAKING INTO HER ROOM AT NIGHT AND OILING THE WINDOW SO SHE WOULDN'T HEAR HIM.

And no, she hadn't (for whatever reason) "agreed" to his stalking.

Well because of how much he loves are cares for her, it's not like a switch turned on and she decided she was in love. They did spend time together, talking and hanging out. Plus, part of his being a vampire is that he's appealing so it would have been really hard for her not to fall for him.

I know your speech was about his abusive behaviors, but they were never meant in an abusive way. (And yes I grant you the stalking was creepy)
He never did anything he didn't believe was in her best interest.
Yes he controlled her seeing Jacob, but only because Jacob was a werewolf and could have hurt her like Sam hurt Emily. If it had been Mike or anyone normal he wouldn't have cared. Plus, he lets her see him eventually and even admits if it's what she wanted he would have let her go.

Now Bella I can't defend because she is waaaaay desperate and stupid.

My point was that there is no reason for them to be in love with each other. Bella only really likes Edward for his looks (at least that's all she mentions), that and she can't help it because he's a vampire - so it's not a real love, it's more like hypnotism or something. I'd say that's more like him taking advantage of her. I mean she decides after like one date that she's crazy in love with him.

Well as far as his controlling her with Jacob, don't you think that putting her in a house full of vampires is more dangerous than letting her hang out with her best friend who only goes werewolf when he's angry? Besides the fact that all of his family have the urge to kill her and Jacob doesn't. He still should have let her decide. He's not her father, and obviously she wanted to see Jacob or else Edward wouldn't have tried to stop her so many times. Edward is super possessive. I'm pretty sure he even says that he wants her to be his and no one else's. I understand that he could be saying that to be romantic, but his actions show otherwise.

I LOL'd at the last line...I totally agree. :thumbsup2

I don't know, I guess I just never saw it that way. I mean yeah she skipped a few steps, but they did spend time together getting to know each other. In the beginning it was just infatuation with her, and that's really common with a lot of people these days. They say they're in love before they've had time to really know, but in the end they did.

No, considering Carlisle is the safest vampire around. His family would never hurt her. (Yes I know Jasper almost did once but he wouldn't again, I don't even think he was there at the time anyway.)
I feel like saying he shouldn't have left her with his family because they're vampires if fairly pointless considering he is one himself. He knows his family and can trust them. He doesn't however know Jacob at all. He just knows how dangerous he could be if he got upset.

But like I said he came around in the end and let her see him, quite a few times. Also Jacob asks him if Bella were to choose him what would Edward do? Edward said he'd let her go, I wouldn't say that's over controlling.

Well he does continually (through the books) warn her about what he could do, and why she should be afraid of him, so even if he can completely control himself, that is threatening her which is not okay with me.

I feel like he should have trusted Bella to make her own decisions, and make her own mistakes but he doesn't let her.

Yeah I think it's good that he came around, especially because of Jacob and Renesme.
