OT real quick - we've discussed great books to read, but what about other movies to check out? I'm on a big Netflix kick currently and am looking for more movies to add to my queue. Any suggestions?

I just got "The Fall" from Netflix and watched it and I am completely and utterly (and maybe even irrevocably ) in love with it. The visuals are mind blowing and the story is just perfect. I highly suggest that everyone checks it out. Here's the trailer. It is really stunning.

Other movies along the same lines of The Fall that I love (and recommend if you haven't seen them) are Pan's Labyrinth, The Fountain, and Mirrormask.

I went to click on the link, I hadn't recognized the title, but that was a great movie. When my husband brought it home (he has a friend at work who owns everything under the sun!) I wasn't so sure about it, but SO enjoyed it. We saw Pan's Labyrinth too, EXCELLENT! I don't think I've seen the other two. My husband will have to ask his friend!

I just finished Wide Awake What am I supposed to do now while I wait for an update??! GAHH! Seriously, though... what's the best way to get notice of an update? Is there an email list or something, or does everyone just continually hit "refresh" on her LJ home page?

Isn't it a great story?? I just check there and here, but I don't really know, I'm new to this stuff with LJ! I reread it while waiting for an update! And yet I'm still waiting!

I usually trust the facebook group, since I'll get an update on my facebook page. But, I will also go refresh the LJ page cause, yeah, I'm that pitiful! I think if you join live journal it sends an update but I haven't done that.

Oh my gosh you guys...I have to share this with someone because I know that most of you would understand.

I got a PM on fanfiction.net today from a lady who left me the sweetest review a few days ago on one of my one-shots that was about Alice and Jasper. Well today, she tells me that she linked me as one of her "pearls" in the latest Dumpster Dive post over at a group-run blog.

I nearly squee'd myself over the fact that my one-shot ficlet was chosen. But even more so, I saw the names of the other 3 administrators for the blog and guess who's name I saw.

Oh my gosh, thanks for the info on the New Moon casting and the pics of the actors! They are all so perfect. I'm very excited that they will have Harry Clearwater. I was afraid he would just be offscreen and we would never meet him.

I must admit that I am confused about the comments on the vampires and how they shouldn't be sexy. Were you all reading the same books I was? Over and over it states how incredibly good looking the vampires are. Remember in New Moon when she sees Gianna and she says that in any other company she would be gorgeous but around the vampires she is just plain? The transformation makes them very sexy and that is exactly how they should be! That shows that they are in tune with the books! I do think the kid cast as Alec will be awesome.

-Does anybody wonder if vampires with special talents are drawn to other vampires with special talents? I mean, Alice and Jazz are together. And of course Bella's talent is part of the initial attraction for Edward. I know that Steph has said that vampires are naturally attracted to those with latent talents when it comes time to transform somebody, but that does not necessarily mean they will be mates.

-Why is it so critical to burn every piece? What would happen if they missed, say, a hand?

There were more, I'm sure I'll think of them.

- Interesting! Maybe so, maybe they are attracted to other special talents. Hey, look in the back of Breaking Dawn where Stephenie lists out all the covens (especially interesting since we haven't heard of all the vampires), were all the talented people matched up with other talents? I'd look but someone has my copy.

- I wondered that too! Would it be someone else who would have to find all the pieces and reassemble the vampire? Or if it's just the odd unburned piece, could a whole vampire somehow regenerate out of that? If like Victoria lost a hand, would there be the possibility of original one handed Victoria and a new regenerated two handed Victoria, or would the hand just be walking around like Thing on the Adams Family.

Not all are matched up. Off the top of my head:

- Eleazar who can detect abilities is matched with Carmen who has no special talents.

-Garrett (no talents) hooks up with Kate (electric forcefield).

-We don't know anything about the wives of the Volturi other than Marcus's wife was killed on Aro's orders (not that Marcus knows it). We don't know if Marcus or Aro's wife have talents.

-Siobahn may or may not have a talent. I can't remember if she is mated or not. If she is her mate would not be talented because one of the Cullens makes the comment, "I thought Maggie was the talented one in that Coven."

-Benjamin is talented but his mate is not.

-James was a tracker and his mate Victoria had a knack for running away. Of course, Edward tells her that James did not feel the same way about her, but we don't know if he was simply trying to goad her.

-Zafrina, as an Amazon, has no mate.

-It does not appear that Jane or Alec are mated. I'm sure Jane's would love to be Aro's mate. It never states if Demetri has a mate or not.

And of course, we know nothing about those vampires that did not join the Cullens. So it seems that the majority of pairs only have one talented member, but there are quite a few that have talents and are not mated, and there could be more talented pairs we do not know about.
