Oh I'm definitely on team Edward. I'm probably allergic to werewolves.

Me too. Are there any on this thread?

My DD cannot decide so we will iron Team Edward on the front of her shirt and Team Jacob on the back. She still loves Edward best, but also loves Jacob (just like Bella)

A lot of people that are in her same position have declared themselves Team Switzerland!:bitelip:

See to me Jacob seems like a whiny kid compared to Edward. Edward seems so worldly and mature. Guess that is to be expected when you are over 100 years old.

Thanks for the heads up, I also love vampires! I will go get them.

If you want more, go check out Anne Rice for the adult read.
She has the Vampire Chronicles. I read the first 3 so far. If you ever saw Interview with a Vampire you will note how different the movie and the book is. Very interesting comparison. They compile book 2 and 3 into "Queen of the Damned" movie.

Book 2 is "The Vampire LeStat", which is very good.:thumbsup2

i read the entire series and I loved it...then I went out and got the Witches of Mayfair series...how was it that I had no idea about Stephen Meyer and his 3 books??? I found out about it and then when I started telling people they were all oh are you talking about twilight?? im like:headache: you KNOW i love vampire and witches books but yet you knew about this and didnt tell me anything??? :rotfl: anyway I went and picked it up today and as soon as I finish my dinner Im startin the read::yes:: been a long time since I was this excited about any book...its time:woohoo:

I love the Witches of Mayfair. They are my favorite Anne Rice series. My fave standalone is The Mummy or as it is also know Rameses the Damned.

And it's Stephenie Meyer.

yeah I figured that one out when I sat down and actually picked up the book to read it:rotfl2: speaking of...I started this book last night a little before midnight and read straight through till 3am ...went to sleep and some cow called me (wrong number) at 7:30 this am:scared1: and I got up and started reading till I couldnt see straight anymore which was about 9am...slept till almost one and I have maybe 150 pages left...as soon as Im done Im off to get the 2nd one...good god almighty I love this book...I think its because it brings back awesome memories of a time when I didnt reserve a piece of my heart for myself out of protection...when I loved and was given love in return wholeheartedly and how naive I was to think that love would conquer all...ah those were the days:cloud9:

ok I finished twilight....LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT...so I just ran over to the bookstore and bought the 2nd one but Im going to pick up my house and eat something before I start it because all else goes to hell once I start reading...:rotfl2:

I am so with you on this one. Some (most) of the stunts he pulls in "Eclipse" are beyond ridiculous. Bella got herself in over her head in regards to him, to be sure. As a person who can be so easily sent on a guilt trip that my bags stay packed 24/7, it cheeses me off how much he exploits that in Bella, and manipulates her emotions so harshly. Some friend. Let's not even go into how rotten it is if you do it to someone you "love". I just want to slap him. He may have the body of a 25 y.o., but he's still an immature 16 y.o. inside.

*grrrrr*

Me too! I have all of her books up until she kinda took that left turn the last few years. I've been a fan of Ann's since the mid-80's.

Have you read her *ahem* other *cough* books?

Smart girl!

By the time I was ready for Eclipse, I pretty much stocked up on Hot Pockets and Lunchables for my kids :rolleyes1

Oh... the obsession has taken on a life of it's own here in the moppety household. In the last week, I have read each book 3 times. I dunno... maybe I needed an escape so badly, and these books came along at the exact moment I needed them. Useless, I am.

I want my best friend to read them so that I can have someone to talk to, but I can't quite seem to pass them off to her. I think I'm going to have to buy her a set.

It has been 3 years since I have been able to really read. I used to read voraciously. The kids happened one right after another, and my hands have been so full. No recreational reading for me. Now I'm obsessed. So embarrassing! :)

I just gave my copy of Twilight to one of my students. And I spoke to my 30-something sister last night and told her to go and get the series too!

If you mean the books she wrote under a pen name. I read the first one when I was a wee lass of 19. Not being "wordly" in nature I was to say the least...shocked and haven't read any of the others.

Yup, those are the ones. No kidding! I don't think "steamy" would even begin to describe them. I finally got the courage up to read them in my 20's. Oof!

Back on topic, have you read the 1st chapter of "Breaking Dawn" yet? Anyone have thoughts?
