I am rereading the series for the fourth time. I agree, I am firmly on Team Edward! I do not see the appeal of Jacob, and agree that Bella should get over the whining and get on to being undead! Can't wait until August to see how it all wraps up!

I was wondering the same thing! I'm thinking one of the Volturi, but just a guess! (Jane's brother maybe?)

He is Jane's brother and his power (which we don't know yet) is the reason the Volturi are invinsible.

Yes, now I remember him. But why is everyone putting so much stock inAlec being a pivotal character? He was truly barely touched upon in the book. Jane was much more prominent.

Well among the uber-fans Alec is a pretty well discussed character because Stephenie herself has spoken about how potent and important his ability is to the Volturi.

Since it seems inevitable to have a run in of sorts with the Volturi in Breaking Dawn...it seems natural that his ability will be revealed and used in a big way.

Plus I believe that Stephenie actually said that the Volturi will be making an appearance in Breaking Dawn. I'm gonna have to look that one up though.

Yes, I think New Moon and Eclipse were paving the way for a lot more Volturi action. I think they'll be sniffing around to make sure Bella is changed. Which leads me to wonder if she won't be thus the ensuing Volturi drama.

Do you think if they make New Moon into a movie they will have to do a bigger rewrite to include Edward more? If all the buzz is correct, Robert Pattinson is going to really break out in Twilight and I think he'll have to have a bigger part in New Moon.

I agree! I am hoping that they spend less time in La Push with Jacob and get to the reunion scene quickly. That is one of my favorite parts of the entire series, and I can't wait to see in on screen.

Certainly, my money is that she won't be changed for much of "Breaking Dawn" but will be by the end of it.

I was actually wondering if they wouldn't combine New Moon and Eclipse into one movie. I don't think there is a whole lot of action in New Moon and I don't really want to watch Bella brood for two hours.

I agree. It took WAY too long for New Moon to get into the action or meat of the story (I believe a shade over halfway through the book). But there were teo story lines to consider in NM. Bella dealing with the loss of Edward and growing close to Jacob, and then the abrupt switch to the stuff in Italy, never revisiting the earlier stuff with Jacob.

I say the start off with the break up, spend a little time showing Bella wallowing in misery and get right to her going to Jacob for help with the motorcycle. They can montage a bit to show the lapse in time as they spend time together (also cycling through him getting larger phsyically)...then cut to the date at the movie theatre...then to Jacob's absence...then to Bella in the clearing with Laurent....etc...then to the explanation of what is up with Jacob...then cliff diving...then right into Edward's call.
