Oh I don't think he's a creepy manipulator! Have you read the notes she has on Jacob on her site? I just think he's a typical, stubborn sixteen year old boy, who has a crush on a girl.

But then again I'm Team Switzerland (I read someone on the Breaking Dawn Spoiler Thread worded it something like: ideally I'm team Edward, but really team Switzerland :rotfl:)

That was me that wrote it. You'll have to forgive me if I didn't get my point across well enough as I may have been slightly tipsy at the time (but that won't stop me from talking about Twilight!):goodvibes

What I meant by that was that of course I think Bella should end up with Edward. The whole series is set up for that to happen. And really, who would object to having an extremely hot boyfriend who is also strong, intelligent, and would do anything to make sure you are safe. But, I really don't have anything against Jacob. He just seems like the everyday, run-of-the-mill angsty teen who doesn't quite know how to deal with his emotions, so he acts out. In his defense, he certainly wasn't given very much time to be a teenager before he was thrown into very adult responsibilities like defending the reservation.

So, yes, ideally I am Team Edward because I would like the natural progression of the storyline to go this way. But I do have some compassion for Jake and think that he and Bella should still be in each other's lives, and if they happened to be more than friends I wouldn't think that the book had failed. So, really Team Switzerland.

Maybe that explains it better. If not, I don't have any more excuses, as I am completely sober now.

That explains it much better. Don't worry, I think we all occasionally post under the influence. ;)

I also want Bella to end up with Edward, but I do like Jacob too. I could feel how effortless their love would have been, and their life together. She would have a "normal" life with Jacob, and their two children (sans the whole werewolf thing). To me it was a really comfortable love, a different kind of love.

Don't get me wrong, she has to be with Edward in the books!:rotfl2: But for some reason I'm still drawn to Jacob, and what could have been. I guess I have my own personal version of Team Switzerland too. :upsidedow

Eek! EW has posted the spoiler. I read it, I admit it. I figured it couldn't be too earth shattering if Stephanie herself posted it. Plus I haven't had a chance to read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn. Anyways here's the link: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20215228,00.html

ETA: I guess I should have put this in the other thread....oh well, if you don't want to read it then don't click on it. I'm afraid to read the other thread just in case there are more serious, unofficial spoilers.

What-ever! I LOOOOVE spoilers! :cool1:

And! What a great one that is! :thumbsup2

Stuff and nonsense...no way am I reading ANY spoilers with the book just a few days away. It's tempting, but I'd rather wait.

I'm with you on this one. I can make it until Friday, and I'd rather be surprised.

It is 4 days, 11 hours, 49 minutes and 14 seconds until Breaking Dawn is released (on the east coast that is)!!! :rotfl:

I feel the same way! I absolutely love her with Edward, but I really like Jacob. Her love for Edward is full of passion and excitement. What she would've had with Jacob seems far more stable and effortless. It makes it so hard when you have two perfectly good choices for the heroine to chose.

One of my coworkers just finished Twilight. I didn't ask her to read it but her niece was so enthusiastic about them too so she figured she'd try it out. She told me that she didn't like Bella and wasn't drawn into the story. Then she said she could see why people in High School would like the books -ouch!:faint:

and to top it all off, I tried to change my siggy and messed it up-grrr.

Saturday can't come fast enough! Oh well, off to watch the movie trailer again :surfweb:

OH! I forgot! I'm in the Mountain time zone! UGGGGH!

You "people of the future" get yours before ME!!!!

As for spoilers, uh, I may or may not tend to read the last page FIRST!!!! (EEEK!)

I KNOWWWW!

Huge personality flaw! :sad2:

DEB! I love your siggie! It's purrrrfect!

I totally agree here- I do feel strongly that Bella/Edward would end up together in the long run- but as a mature woman who read the books- my personal choice would not have been Bella's but then again- I'm not Bella lol.

I had a discussion this weekend with a group of 14-16 yo Girl Scouts who all read the book and were thrilled when I answered a question in their conversation and started quizzing me on it to see if I "really read the books" lol- They are all strongly Team Edward- and can not understand why I could even consider Jacob- but I told them that there is a difference between fantasy and reality- and that to me Jacob is more reality- and there is something about the warmth as opposed to the coldness of Edward

I'm starting my 3rd read through of the first 3 books tonight- so I will be finished for Saturday- for Breaking Dawn...

Now I just wish I could get the book at Midnight Friday and Not have to travel to another city for a Girl Scout Training early Saturday... Or have my son's 4th birthday party on Sunday in another city- don't people know publishing dates of books?

Hey there! Thank god I found this thread, I'm really starting to annoying pretty much everyone I come in contact with. My boyfriend has already accepted that I won't exist until I finish reading Breaking Dawn...twice...maybe three times just to be sure I've got it all. Team Edward-97%. There is a small part of me that feels some empathy for Jacob but to me it was just never in the cards for him. To me he's always been Bella's ductape. Obviously I'm here quite late in the game but i only discovered the books in July :rolleyes1 . Long story short, die hard Rosalie fan, I have a love/hate relationship with the quotes of the day, and I am dyyyyiiiinnnnngggg to get to the wedding. Thank you for creating an outlet for my twilight obsessed mind!

Spoilers have began to pop up in Livejournal, though I have no idea if they're true. So i'm keeping away from those, I almost read a part by accident.

I think I am one of the very few who want to be spoiled, I really want some spoilers, I want to know now what happens (sorry I am whining like a baby), I can't wait until August 2nd

Yes I was one of those kids who found the hidden presents and then acted surprised when I got them....lol

Oh and how pathetic is this, it is my 13th wedding anniversary this weekend and my kids will be with my dear mom, I told DH we will not do anything special (because no telling how long I will need to read and then re-read braeking dawn lol)

PMart

Now that I am watching it over and over, it looks like it is just a really good fan video. I can tell that some of the footage is actually from Harry Potter.

Guess I was so in awe the first time I watched it.:rolleyes1

I've just read the script for the film, so I can confirm that there will be nothing New Moon or Eclipse related other than the cliffhanger at the end of the movie. :goodvibes
