I agree.. I think Jasper's hair is THE worst by far!! I just can't figure it out!

And also agree that I was thinking more "pixie" cut for Alice's hair, but I love her hair regardless. I actually like it so much I was thinking of getting mine cut the same way.

I guess the reason Emmett's hair bothered me is because it was supposed to be one of the reasons that Rose saved him from the bear attack.

Because his CURLY hair and dimples reminded her of her friends child!

Honestly..yes...I do think his hair look fine.. I mean he's attractive regardless!;)

But it just irks me that they can't even do something so simple and basic as follow along with the books description of the characters.

If a simple hairstyle is too hard to portray without changing it, it makes me wonder what else will get changed!:sad2:

After reading part of the script..I wonder!

I totally loved New Moon too. My take on Bella is that sure, she's portrayed as an "old soul" BUT she's still only 17. She in her "first love" which has taken over her whole life as first loves do. Her whining or pity party are genuine traits for her age and frankly, self esteem. So I think her inner conflict is actually her lack of experience and immaturity and her "old soul" and intelligence.

Her character's growth is slow going. She honestly believes herself to be plain and ordinary but based on Edward's versions of hearing the thoughts of the other kids at school, she's actually quite pretty. She's clumsy now, but I betcha when she finally changes she will be graceful (if not before).
you totally summed it up exactly how i feel also but then again great minds think alike...;)

I agree with you but it makes me wonder if she's old enough to make such a life "changing" decision. I love that Edward is trying to get her to have all the human experiences she can.
you know i made a life changing situation at 17(marriage) and thought i was pretty mature while others thought i was too young and now 15 yrs later and 5 kids i am still glad i did ... i think it is all in how she is potrayed who know after so much that is happened to her (no Spoilers Here) she may be so mature in Breaking Dawn that it blows us away...:confused3

Wow ! i love the cullen pictures ... i am also a lil confused...:confused3

OMG!!!!!!!!!

Lookie what we have here....

OK..I don't wanna pick these apart because I'm just TOO excited to see things coming together, and MOST of the cast looks great, BUT, I AM SO FREAKIN DISTURBED with what they have done to EMMETT'S HAIR!!!!!

I mean..what were they thinking?? He had the most perfect natural curly hair..JUST like Emmett is SUPPOSED to have!!!

AND...AND..why is Jasper so blurry in all the pics?? Could it be that they are trying to hide the dead animal on top of his head??:scared1:

I feel faint...

*On a positive note..I have totally changed my mind about Nikki! She looks great as Rosalie..at least it looks that way from these pictures!*

Jasper has a hat on!!! ACK!!!!

WTH?

Thank goodness they waxed Edward's brow (singular).

Perfect Alice, and Rosalie. Esme will grow on me. I just "see" Her on Grey's disfigured.

I'm so excited! I wish I were at home so I could really take the time to look at those pictures. Here at work I have to scroll quickly. I agree about Jasper's hair, it's awful. Hopefully it will look better on film. It actually may fit with his time frame though, as a Civil War soldier. :confused3

you know i can picture it pulled back with a confederate soilder hat on and then it is okay.... but wowza what is up with that..

Ah those pictures are great thanks for posting...but I agree they're going low budget on the hair...

Anyways is anyone planning on reading her upcoming book...The Host? I just was reading a little about it and it looks really interesting. So I plan on picking it up when it gets released.

I can't decide. I started reading the excerpt from Stephenie's site but I got lost pretty quick.

Yeah I haven't read the excerpt yet...but hey how bad can it be? Hopefully it will be good and will give us something to read while waiting for Breaking Dawn!

Meee! It's intriguing me.

I think Stephenie Meyer also has a mermaid story knocking around in her head. Now that would rock my socks!

Ok - finally have a minute to write about the new cast pictures posted:) I think that Robert looks great:love: The others look good but need a little work here and there. I really think that these pics are something that were done to get something out for the fans to see. Fan sites have been clamoring for any information at all about the movie. I think that the final look of the cast may change and I think that we will all be happy. Maybe they wanted to read all the fan feedback on the websites to guage the reaction. They are just starting to film so they may try out a few looks before settling on the final look. I really hope that we see some more pictures soon ( and that they fix Jaspers hair:rotfl: )

Yes I definately plan on picking it up when it is released:thumbsup2

I posted yesterday that I finished Twilight Sunday night and picked up New Moon yesterday, well, I finished it this afternoon...LOL

I had to stop on my way home from work, to pick up Eclipse...LOL

I am hooked. I have not been this excited about a series since Anne Rice's books. Thanks for the recommendation guys and I can't wait for the movie :D

Awesome! Another fan! I was a huge Anne Rice fan also and Twilight has filled the vampire void since Anne stopped writting about vamps. Stephenie has done a great job with the vampire romance:)

There are some other books out there that are pretty good too. I just started reading the Black Dagger Botherhood Series by JR Ward and the Southern Vampire Mysteries Series by Charlaine Harris. Both of these series are more adult then Twilight and they are a pretty fun fill in while waiting for Stephenies new book Breaking Dawn to come out.

Hope you don't mind if I join in on the thread. My kids have had the books around for a couple months, and on the way home from skiing this weekend I was bored in the car and started the first one on Sunday. And finished it! Put New Moon on hold at the library, then decided to just go and buy it yesterday. And finished it last night! :rotfl:

Some thoughts:

I agree with all the folks who like Jacob better. I really liked New Moon better because it focused around him instead of Edward. I really never liked Edward, and still don't. I like how Bella met and got to know (and like) Jacob before he was "different" and was still accepting of him afterwards. I just feel like her whole thing with Edward was kind of a melodramatic teenage crush and that she only fell for him at first because of his looks, and then once she found out he was a vampire, it seemed like a "celebrity" love. I just feel like if they'd met in real life, as real people, she wouldn't have really cared for him.

And the fact that he's so much older just bothers me. Just seems like no matter what, he's going to always continue to be arrogant and cold (double meaning intended!) and patronizing towards her. I mean everyone seems to ignore it because he's 100+, but what if he were 45 instead? :confused3 Wouldn't you feel kind of like, "eww"? And he's even older. I just never think he'll treat her like a peer - more like a pet!

Anyways, just my off the cuff feelings after finishing book 2. I'll start Eclipse as soon as I can pry it out of my DS15's hands - he's about half way through it, and DS12 is almost done with book 1.

Oh, and incidentally to the OP, I also love the Stephanie Plum books. Probably my all-time favorite light-hearted series. I know not at all the same type of book. However, I did read (part of) one Anne Rice book once, and gave up quickly. Not at all for me!

Glad I found this thread!

Hi everyone, I've been kind of lurking on this thread, but haven't read all too closely because I don't want to be spoiled!

I just finished Twilight last week and am about halfway through New Moon right now. I've seen a couple of you guys say you don't really like the second one as much, but I'm loving it more than the first! I didn't really feel like much really happened in the first book, but this one is holding my interest much better.

I'm a huge fan of the Anne Rice books, and I can't say that Twilight is as good, but I'm still enjoying the series so far. :thumbsup2

Hi and Welcome to the thread. I am an Anne Rice fan also - I love all the how her stories are so rich with detail and history. She is definately my favorite vampire author - though I enjoyed her earlier vampire novels alittle better then her last few.

I do enjoy the Twilight series too and if you haven't checked it out you really need to checkout the first chapter of Midnight Sun on Stephenie's website. It is Twilight from Edwards point of view and it is a little darker and has a different feel from Twilight. Here is a link ..

Just finished Eclipse this morning and I have read the first chapter of Midnight Sun. I am so ready for her new book now...waiting for August :D

I agree...I'm hoping that these were just put together quickly to get out to the public and that their appearances will be a little more polished for the movie.
