In one of those Q&A's, the author said that yes Bella does menstruate, but she is too embarrassed to wonder if it bothers Edward, and he is too much of a gentleman to say anything.

they do mention tampons in the last book... so i assume she does.

Haven't you ever noticed that in most books they don't mention period, or needing to urinate or have a BM?? fictional Characters don't do these things! I think if he can get close enough to her neck to smell her veins he can handle the period thing....JMO
