Hi there!
This is our first cruise that our kids are out of the kids clubs and into the tween and teen areas. I know when they were little we could drop them at scuttles cove when we wanted to go to the adult area but what do the older kids do? Is there an area on Castaway Cay just for them? Thanks.

For teens there is a teen hideout (I also highly suggest The Wild Side excursion). For tweens they spend some of there time at In Da Shade, but also do activities with counselors around the island

As PP mentioned there is the tween/teen excursion. Which the counsellors will advertise on board and you can sign them up beforehand. If enough people sign up then (usually) at least one Edge and one Vibe counsellor will go on this with them.
If they don't there is teen hideout, which is just behind the bike rental with things like volleyball, table tennis, swing ball, cards, music. Its a base where again, there will be at least 2 YA counsellors there all day so if they come and go or parents come looking they can tell them where everyone is, or they can leave a towel or bag or whatever. The organised activities that they'll do, again they'll be 2 counsellors, can take place all over the island: scavenger hunts, pelican plunge, lunch, in da shade, but its also like the ship so they can come and go as much as they like so its best to have a plan of where and when to meet.
Most of the time, counsellors will let them know whats going on at CC, sometimes they might arrange a meeting place when you first get off the ship so they can all get to teen hideout together.

They have activities on Castaway key just like they do in the Edge. The kids can come and go and return to the ship when they want. They can't leave the ship without you or without you signing a permission slip.

But they can get back on the ship without you as long as they are with a youth CM.

FYI, in Febuary multiple CMs said that tween/teen can board without a parent, its just getting off the ship. So yes they can board with a YA but they can also board alone

They can get back on the ship in any port without parent. It always been that way. They just can't leave the ship.

Yup. They're not going to leave anyone alone in port because they got separated from their family and they're 'under-age'...
