Tween Girls Christmas Gift Ideas?

Does anyone have any movie ideas for this age group? It would need to be an older movie as DSD seems to get all the new ones when they come out.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
Legally Blonde
Clueless
Adventures in Babysitting
Goonies
Grease
Mean Girls
Bring it On

Amanda Bynes & Lindsey Lohan seem to have made lots of tween movies I just can't think of the names of the movies =]

I usually go with movies I watched and loved DD10 gets a kick out of movies like 'Clueless' when she knows I watched it when I was younger.

Love this thread! My dd is not a tween but I got some ideas and already ordered a few items this morning that were mentioned here. Got the smashbook and the Extreme dot to dot book.

DD10 picked up 'The Popularity Papers' book 1 at the library and sat down at home and zoomed right thru it! This morning she only had 3 chapters left its a quick read but she loved it and asked me to pick the next book up today =)

Mom of a tween girl. She's getting some new clothes for our Disney trip, a paid of GIR headphones (Invader Zim character). She saw them at Hot Topic. They're the retro style ones & have GIR ears on the headband. Also, 'Wreck this Journal' & 'The Cat Returns' on DVD. I think that is all other than stocking stuffers. I need to check my budget.

As far as older stuff goes, DD12 is getting the I Love Lucy Season 1 DVD - she recently announced she thinks it is the "funniest show EVER!". Apparently she stumbled upon reruns of it on Nick or something. She's also getting a dvd of Shirley Temple movies ($5 at Target) - she likes "Little Princess" so it'll be interesting to see what other ones she might like.

For newer stuff, she's getting Season 1 of Once Upon a Time.

I am having a VERY difficult time with my DD8 (going on 23) :) My mom got her a kindle Fire and I am really thinking she is going to LOOOOVVVVVEEE it.... I appreciate the posts giving me some ideas....

My daughter sounds very similar to yours... :) We got her Magic Clay (she loves crafts)

I want to get DSD (11.5) some new books. Can anyone suggest some titles or series for this age? She watches all kinds of movies so with the exception of some really graphic 'descriptions', anything should be fine.[/]

I second the Hunger Games =] dd10 has not read it yet mostly because I think another year before she can get into it, i read it and its excellant :goodvibes

DD10s fav reads are : Dork Diaries and shes in a bookclub they are currently reading The Goddess Girls Series which she loves she flies thru hers each month.

Id like to find her some new fun reads though she usually finishes her bookclub book in a week to a week and a half and then shes looking for another book inbetween.

If she likes the goddess girls she might like the percy Jackson series by Rick riodan.

DD just turned 10 this week. She received:

- Lalaloopsy doll/outfits
- American Girl doll outfits
- Lego Friends sets
- a new rolling upright suitcase for her Disney trip with Grandma. I put a variety of mister fans, puzzle books and card games in it for the drive down. I know she won't need the fans this week, but they'll be good in the summer and I found them 70% off.
- Find it Starry Night puzzle thingy
- Labyrinth game
- Percy Jackson guide book for the 1st series
- backscratcher
- rainbow dreamcatcher

The biggest hit? The backscratcher. :confused3 She's also asked for a Rubix cube and I know her best friend is getting her one. She got $ from the grandparents and has so far has bought books. Next year's American Girl doll looks just like her so I have a feeling she'll be saving the rest of her birthday and Christmas money so we may make a trip at the beginning of January.

I also saw the extreme dot to dot books at Michaels yesterday :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness! I'm glad you posted this. My DD is going to LOVE that doll. She takes riding lessons and loves anything horse-related. She didn't ask for a doll for Christmas (because she wants an iPod touch and knew she wouldn't get both!).

But that will definitely be on her birthday list! I'm glad I saw it now, because her birthday is in early January, so I usually just do all the shopping before Christmas. I think I'd better wait, because Saige will be on her birthday list for sure! :rotfl:

We got DD the McKenna starter set for Christmas a couple weeks ago and if I would have seen Saige earlier, I would have skipped McKenna and gotten Saige instead. :badpc:

My DD is also taking riding lessons and LOVES horses. *sigh* Maybe she'll use her money from Grandpa from Christmas to get Saige. Or not. She still has Grandpa's money from last Christmas. :rotfl:

She's at such a hard age. She's 11 and will be 12 in May, so she's young for her class. She plays with her American Girls daily and luckily has friends that still are interested in them, but I realize that will quickly be going by the wayside for makeup and boys.

So finding presents for her has been really difficult for me this year. Thanks for all the great ideas in this thread! :)
