I like that they gave us a 4th rotating fp, but one tweak does need to be made.
Let us use the 4th rotating fp anytime, as long as its not within an (hour) x amount of time within the other 3 that you can schedule in advance.

This way it doesn't punish people who want to schedule one or more of their 3 advance fastpasses at night or later in the evening.

Please, please, please make this change.

Welcome to the DIS.

It isn't a 4th FP+...it seems to be additional passes (4/5/6 etc) after you've used your pre-booked 3.

The tweak that needs to be made is to nighttime shows like Wishes and Fantasmic. People who pick those will NEVER be able to have a 4th+ FP because they won't use up all 3 until late at night. They may have to change the classification of those shows, like making them a separate FP+ like lunch at BoG.

The preferred tweak would be a "rolling 3". As in, if you use 1 FP+, you can immediately book another so you can ALWAYS hold UP TO 3 passes at a time.

Yes, THIS, exactly.

P.S. Congrats on the DVC purchase Jennasis!

true. that's why for now, I'm calling it a rotating fastpass.

why just night time shows? Disney shouldn't punish you for booking ANY fastpasses that are booked in the evening.

3 rotating fastpasses would be great....but that sounds like too much. Believe me, I like to have more...but having 3 active all the time? That's too many. That means you could ride any big ride all day with fastpasses. I really don't think they will ever do that.

3 in advance...plus a 4th rotating one that can be used ANY time as long as its not within an hour of the other 3 seems pretty good.
They almost have this right now....they just need to do the one tiny little tweak (instead of being able to book the 4th rotating one ONLY AFTER all 3 advances ones are used....let you book it ANY time as long as its not within an hour of the other 3). This evens things out, and it makes no difference if you book the advance 3 in the morning, afternoon or evening...you get the same number of fastpasses regardless.

Don't worry...neither your plan or mine are likely to happen.

I wonder if this plan Disney announced is because fewer early morning passes were being reserved? And this is a way to encourage people to book those earlier slots in hopes if scoring additional passes later in the day/evening.

I really hope that is not true. They could implement this tiny tweak...they are almost there.

It really doesn't make any sense to punish those who book FP's late.
If there really are "too many" people booking fp's later, then the system should just work itself out...later fp's won't be available and only earlier ones will be....and then people will have to book earlier ones naturally...

I really don't think that is the case. I think they just overlooked this punishment stuff that is happening. And I think they will tweak it.

Wait, I'm confused… Is the 4th FP+ a "real thing" or is this thread just talking about what people would LIKE to see happen?

I wonder...

So many here have conjectured that Disney wants people to spend a portion of the day in the parks and then leave to shop or dine somewhere else on property. However, this seems to indicate that Disney wants people to arrive early and stay in the parks.

It was announced by Disney but without any word about when it's starting.

I Wrote a longggggg Letter --- Since I was there March 25 till March 30 th ,2014 ---- I'm still waiting to hear back from them .... It was a nice letter but to the Point ...

Thanks. I couldn't find anything with a quick search (I'm supposed to be working on the tax returns); I'll have to dig deeper…

I vote for being able to book a 4th (or more) FP+, day of after using your first FP+, and keep rebooking as currently held FPs are used. That way, you could book 2 midmorning and one for an evening experience, and still be able to book additional FPs as the day goes on, without having to wait for that evening show to be over (and the park to be closed).

They really made this all too complicated. How about going back to the legacy FP, only using a magic band instead of a paper pass? OR let people pre-book two FPs and then use legacy-style once they are in the park.

OK, FP+ is starting to give me hives. Back to the taxes… they are easier to understand!! :rotfl2:

Also note that the announcement specifically said the 4th would have to be booked at an in-park kiosk. No word on whether that is a temporary situation or will eventually change.

Couldn't agree more.........:goodvibes

its real. but right now, the rule will be you can only use the 4th rotating fastpass after all 3 advance fastpasses have been used.

It's not real yet. Disney stated that they are looking into the possibility of adding more FP+'s after all 3 are used. However, it's not a definite and there is no timeframe for implementation if Disney does decide to do this.

oh....I thought it was already decided they will do this, it was just a matter of implementing it. darn it...
I hope they have the recipe all tweaked and ready to serve by june...
:stir:

Disclaimer: I'm not saying I think that those who book FP+ in the evening should be "punished"

I do, however, understand why Disney could treat nighttime shows differently than regular ride FP+s that are booked at night. Wishes, MSEP, Illuminations and Fantasmic are only offered at specific times. Guests do not have a choice to experience them earlier in the day.

Those who are booking nighttime FP+s for attractions they can experience all day long are making a choice to experience it in the evening.

So I could definitely see how Disney could treat the nighttime shows differently than they treat other evening FP+s. (Again, I'm not saying they should, or that I agree with it, but I can see how/why they could do it).

There is another thread with a link to Tom Staggs saying additional FP+/park hopping will be available in later in the spring...so it doesn't seem like it will be too long before it's in effect.

The keep saying later this spring for the 7DMT opening which will be early May so I think the change will be when the new ride opens.
