Twas the Night Before ... Christmas 09?! - 12/30 New TR! Please come join me!

I  the stockings.

Mmmmmn! Mickey waffles!

My kids would love that.

Alas I am a horrible mother. I find waffles singularly unrewarding. They are best hot (as is French Toast and most truly fantabulous breakfast foods such as omelets) and so I like to serve them when they are ready, not off of a plate in the warming oven.

Which means by the time I get to eat...

Everyone else is done.

It's very lonely.

So instead, being the completely lame mother than I am, we make Mickey pancakes.

2 krusteaz frozen mini pancakes + 1 krusteaz frozen regular pancake. Microwave for 1 minute = Mickey!

those look very yummy though!

I want a Mickey waffle iron too! *foot stomp*

"Now, now, Veruca, Daddy will buy you a Mickey waffle iron."

Sorry, got carried away there. Anyway...

How cute are your boys eating their Mickey waffles?

And your stockings are adorable. I always wondered how people did stuff like that if they were at Disney on Christmas.

I'll be over for breakfast tomorrow! YUM those look good!! :) Hurrah for 50 days til Disney Christmas and great score on those Mickey stockings. I'm going to have to check out Target and see if I can have a little Disney Christmas in Connecticut.

Happy Halloween!!

Cute stockings!!! I may have to meander over to Target soon...

YOU HAVE A MICKEY WAFFLE IRON???? I am so envious! I must find one of my own! :goodvibes

Your boys are so cute eating their Mickeys.

I love the stockings. They had something like those last year and I really wanted them. :rolleyes1

I saw in a catalog that they had mini waffle makers too. One was princess themed and then the other had mickey, minnie, donald and goofy. I can't remember what catalog it was but it was one of those ones you get around the holidays that has everything in it. :rotfl2:

I have a Mickey waffle iron too! Thanks for reminding me...now maybe I should get mine out and make some too! :goodvibes
Love the stockings too! Very cute!! It must be extra fun to shop knowing where you will be for Christmas! ::yes::

Tracy

I want a Mickey Waffle iron!! But, I always want the waffles to taste like they do in the World!!! I am not sure I would be satisfied :confused3???

Thise stockings are really cute. I was thinking about Target for ours also. I am making our kids surprises for when we get to Disney. It won't be on Christmas, but I want to give them something anyway.

OK my DIS buddies, no bidding against me on that waffle iron!:lmao:
On this day off from school, I'm going to Target to search for the Mickey and Minnie Christmas stockings....
If they have the Christmas stuff out already.....

Love the fall VA trip pics... and the finding of the waffle maker. That would be a hit here... and we could pretend we were at some yummo restaurant at WDW - right?

Oh yes, we can pretend ... :) I totally had forgotten about it, like I said my grandmother gave it to me a WHILE ago!!!

Thanks on the pics, VA is lovely in the fall, MD too... we are really heading into it now, beautiful colors...

I just finished reading your Fall TR and this PTR too. Whew, you are busy!! Its been fun reading your adventures. Your DS' are adorable!!!

I will be curious to know if you keep 1900 Park Fare, that's where we are planning DD's birthday celebration dinner. I am hoping it will be yummy! I know that you said you are going for breakfast, I am still curious to know your reaction to it.

MNSSHP--we are planning on going to it!! I think it will be a lot of fun. DD is really into Halloween this year so providing that holds true for next year it is on our list to do.

Any tips for a newbie planner? BTW--LOVE  your binder. I use the larger size Flex Notebooks for grad school--I like them so much better than traditional binders.

HI! Well I am amazed you read through all of that, but YES we have had our fun times :)

Totally going to 1900, mostly so we can see the GF all decked out Christmas style, I have heard good things about the dinner, too, and of course Cinderella and Prince Charming, right!! :thumbsup2 Your DD will love that.

Oh MNSSHP is AMAZING. I was so taken with it! Gets me even more excited for Christmas due to the whole holiday theming!!! :yay:

With the planning, I would say just read the DIS and have fun for a few more months, and then also read all the TRs from the time period you are going, and also AllEars.net. There is SO much info there, menus, etc. You can do a lot of planning with that site!!! Believe me if you ask a question you'll get an answer on the DIS!!!! ;)

I love my binder tooo!!! Wait till you see the update on it for Christmas, pretty funny.... but that style was perfect for me! :thumbsup2

Glad you are here!

 Already have a snipe in on ebay! I wonder if it's like yours, it looks like it will make the same looking waffles!
I went to Target.com and found the stockings, Mickey for the guys and Minnie for the girls. So cute!

We get tomorrow off....
Conferences were on Tuesday after school until 7:30 and then today, I started half an hour early so I worked from 7:30 to 7:30....
I really hope to sleep in tomorrow!

Yay for you! I have today off, too.... well I took it off :) I have Halloween parties to attend to, and decorations to take care of! AND I went to TARGET, btw this morning... GUESS what I saw!!! The stockings!!!! Now, of course I had already ordered them online... :headache: so much for shipping... oh well it wasnt that much, but I was happy to see them in person!

NICE quality, like a printed fabric, with the image, soft, and the red cuff is a cord fabric, not plush or fuzzy, it is nice. The have Winnie the Pooh, Cars, all the ones I saw on line... I was surprised b/c online it says available online only... :confused3 Ah well I just can't wait for mine to get here now!!!

Good for you for getting them, too... I thought they were adorable as well!

Oh yeah, I am the same way, but my DH is the one who normally makes fresh pancakes, so all I gotta do is eat them!!! I am the french toast maker. The Waffler was just a surprise to have again, the guys thought they were funny, and I have this amazing pancake mix... it is Snoqualmie Falls mix, straight from your neck of the woods!!! One of the best brunches I have ever had!! :cloud9: My husband loves this mix, my mother shipped him a box of it!!!

Anyhoo, can't resist making them, they tasted great! Yeah, I was popping mickeys right onto the plate for everyone else, and people were feeding me ears. That worked!

I love the DIS and its enabling power LOL!! I'm definitely interested in those stockings so I'm going to head over to target.com and see what I can find WOOT!! Thanks for the heads up!!!

Love the Mickey Mouse Waffle maker how cute!! I could definitely see me eating more waffles in our house if I had that maker!

Oh well go on and get yourself one! If you have a computer and a credit card it seems you can satisfy this desire!!!! (at least according to WigD!)

Yeah, well I am finding out "how" to do christmas, don't worry!! I have all kinds of fun plans to share but I WON'T do it until AFTER at least ONE holiday is over!!!! Halloween first! Then the onslaught!! The stores are already gearing up... Poor Thanksgiving... :lmao:

I'll be over for breakfast tomorrow! YUM those look good!! :) Hurrah for 50 days til Disney Christmas and great score on those Mickey stockings. I'm going to have to check out Target and see if I can have a little Disney Christmas in Connecticut.

Come on over!!! They turned out nicely! My guys like waffles with butter and powdered sugar, (DS4 likes jam only) Pancakes with peanutbutter and syrup, and Frenchtoast with syrup and powdered sugar... each is different! And woe if you forget which combination of toppings goes on which one! Oh they have all that stuff at Target, Christine!! Or at least at the one in my neighborhood so you should be in luck!!! Yay, I know!!!! 50 days, I am so excited.... it is SO going to fly by...

Oh you must you must! Ebay apparently has the answers!!! Target online or in stores it seems! I just saw them "in person" !!!

Yes all these little disney secrets in my house that I didn't know myself!!!! :lmao: bathroom art, wafflers, who knew??!! YOU all bring it out in me!!!

I love the stockings. They had something like those last year and I really wanted them. :rolleyes1

Well, if it is what you want...... I say.... BUY it! :rotfl: Oh yes, I love those catalogs!!! SO much fun! Catalog after catalog after catalog comes to my house, I can't keep track of them all, except the toy ones... DS7 is all over those... he keeps a little pile in his room... :)

Tracy

It was a big hit in my house! Yes it is fun, I can't wait until it gets closer!!!

Well, listening to Disney music and eating mouse ears comes pretty darn close in our book

Take a look! I love the ones at the Christmas store, of course, but just not wanting to spend that much for stockings we won't really use for decorations in our house... I love the ones that are on the Disney Store website (from parks) nice. I loved them in person, but $50.00 for two stockings was hard to stomach! :headache:

OK my DIS buddies, no bidding against me on that waffle iron!:lmao:

If they have the Christmas stuff out already.....

HA! They have the Christmas stuff out, they do!! Sandwiched between the aisles of Xmas is the residual Halloween ... the lost holiday already :sad2:

Have you ever seen the short on the Nightmare before Christmas DVD where Tim Burton talks about how he was inspired to write the poem which eventually becomes the movie? He was watching window decorators take down a Halloween display and put up a Christmas one... and wondered what it would be like if the two holidays were intermingled... Target was like that!!! :lmao: Oh! On that same DVD they have the Disneyland display with Jack. I would go to MNSSHP at Disney LAND to see that!!!

Go find them, they will be there!

HA! Yeah, I fear we will be!!!! (eating more waffles!!!);)

Well head on over! If you have a Target they sell them in store too!

I want a Mickey Waffle iron!! But, I always want the waffles to taste like they do in the World!!! I am not sure I would be satisfied :confused3???

I have a Mickey waffle iron. I use it a lot. If you want waffles that taste more like the ones in 'The World', try some malted waffle mix. You can get it at Williams-Sonoma or order it. I read somewhere a long time ago that Disney World uses Carbon's malted mix, which can be ordered. Beware - it is expensive. I got some at Williams-Sonoma and mixed it in with my regular mix. It was still good, and it lasted a good while like that. The Mickey waffles were better than normal. I'm out of mix right now and can't bring myself to pay the price again just yet, but I probably will as the holidays near.

We shopped all afternoon....
The first Target we stopped at in our little city had them! Well, we still needed on Minnie....
So on we went to Wichita....
Two more Targets and not a single one!
Tomorrow we plan to hit the other two Targets in Wichita and see if we can find our final Minnie stocking.

It's not so bad for 4 but for 6 I'm really eating alone. I think my crew is too greedy to feed me ears.

:rotfl2:

I have that pancake mix :)

That's where we were married.

The brunch is still their best though dinner is amazing. I love the syrup from the sky though....

Ah, yes! W&S I love that store... they have an outlet too, not far from us, yeah their gourmet goodies are expensive, but thank you for this tip!!! :flower3: I will definitely look into it! Wow, Mickey Wafflers of the world unite! Hold me back malted waffle mix... YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. :lovestruc

I think I have just unleashed a new sunday morning favorite

Fall2009061.jpg
LOVE IT!!:lovestruc I've had my eyes on this little number for a long time. Maybe I'll just add it to my :santa:list!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=06XPG3BVYKTDBZHAYQ4S

One specifically that I have been thinking about are the stockings I want to get for my DS's "Christmas trip goodie bags" Which will then be hung in the villa for Santa...;) I wanted a Disney theme, OF course, but I felt a little guilty spending over $20.00 for EACH stocking... even with a discount for my Disney Visa, the least expensive one at WDW and at the Disney Store, were $21.95... I just felt this was too much... so I did a little searching, seeming to recall Disney themed Christmas decor at Target last year... So I went online, and surprise! SCORE!!! :thumbsup2

stockings.jpg

What do you think? Cute, huh? Well I like them, and think they are perfect for what I want them for, and at $9.99 each, I knew they were perfect!!

So ordered they are, and now I just have to wait for them to show up! I also bought a few foil Mickey Christmas balloons.. :p I got them when I bought the balloons from the June/July surprise reveal!!! I will of course do something with them.. related to our trip announcement, but not sure what yet! :upsidedow

Anyhow, this is my latest Christmas trip news!!!!

After all I had to do SOMETHING in honor of it being 50 days until our DISNEY CHRISTMAS

:santa: :yay: :santa: :yay: :santa:

I am planning to do this exact same thing! Of course, I'm doing it for SIX kids (my 2 plus SIL's 4), so I'm hoping to find them for even less than $9.99 after Christmas. I'm getting so into planning, though, that I want to buy them RIGHT NOW!:headache: I am SO not patient when it comes to shopping!

BTW--LOVE  your binder. I use the larger size Flex Notebooks for grad school--I like them so much better than traditional binders.

I think I missed the binder post! Ack! Do you remember which post it was? I'll have to search for it! I have a Carolina Pad folder holding my info right now, but I don't think it's going to be enough to last me the rest of the year.

I forgot to wish everyone a happy Halloween! Just to brag a bit, here are my two cuties in their Halloween costumes:
