TV reception without cable?

We tried to get a preferred loop for our upcoming trip, no dice! Anyone know if we will be able to pick up any local channels with just our antennae? I'm just looking for local news and weather and maybe just a show or two in the evenings so I'm not really picky about which channel.

we were so tired after all day in the parks when we did have a preferred site that the tv never even came on, this year we even chose not to get a perferred site for that reason...meals baths then on to bed...sorry I can't help you on this one but there is always radio Disney and local weather that way if you can't...good luck and have a magical trip!

We've not had a problem tuning in the big 4 (Fox, CBS, ABC, NBC). Some require a little more twisting of the antenna than others. Plus we can usually get some other channels that come in a little bit worse.

Yes, you can get the major networks and then some. They come in clear with the typical RV roof antenna. If you are like us, you WILL NOT miss having cable at FW there are too many things to do.

I'm with JasonRV you don't need cable tv over Air TV is fine. But bring a DVD player or a good book sometime you my get stuck in your RV all day if it rains.

When we went in 96 all we had was a small black and white with rabbit ears. We got quite a few channels then. I'm sure you will be fine now.

The same thing happened to us on a recent trip. We bring a little TV/VCR combo, and used the rabbit ears that came with the set. No problem getting ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. Also two or three other local channels. Got to tell the kids that that was all we ever had growing up, that cartoons were only on Saturday AM. And, of course I had to tell them about record players, phones that had cords, no computers, PONG, my first car phone (which really was a car phone and cost a small fortune), etc. etc. etc. Gosh, I am turning into my grandfather
