TV in your bedroom? Yes, NO?

I don't have a TV.
My students find this very very difficult to comprehend.

We have two televisions (one in the living room and a small VCR/TV unit that the kids move between their bedrooms as suits their needs). We have never had one in our bedroom (married 12 years so far--still plenty of other/better things to do in there ) Last May we turned off our sattellite service and we live too far out to get any channels with an antenna, so all we watch are movies/DVDs anyway. Funny thing is we really don't miss it (thought originally we would turn it back on when summer ended but none of us want it anymore). The kids' friends really have a hard time grasping this concept

told DH when we move, our next bedroom will be TV/computer free.

I have a 40 inch LCD with a home theater set-up in all rooms! I love having that at the foot of my bed!!

We don't. When DH and I moved into our first house after getting married, he mentioned wanting to get a t.v. for the bedroom and I told him, "We'll be doing two things in bed and neither of them is watching t.v."

I'm a light sleeper and have a hard time sleeping when DH is even reading (the sound of pages turning wakes me up).

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having a tv in our bedroom, including my TIVO...That is my special place to go when I need a little break from the kids. Sometimes after my husband gets home, I need about 30 minutes of alone time , just my bed and my tv...
Really, I love to lay in bed and watch tv at night. We rarely go to bed at the same time.I go to bed when the last child goes to bed, around 8:30. I lay in bed watch what TIVO has recorded for me, I usually end up asleep with in 30 minutes . I get up early in the morning before the kids, there is nothing better then laying in bed watching one of my favorite shows. Sometimes if we have a movie to watch, my husband and I will snuggle in bed and watch..I just dont usually last a whole movie, I get too comfortable and fall asleep.

My parents always had a tv in their room as well..

I posted yes but it's not plugged in. It's been there since we moved and we just don't use it. It was in our bedroom at the old house and we didn't use it there either. I read in bed and DH comes to bed when he's ready to sleep. No need for the tv.

We used to have a TV in our room, but my DD pulled it off the dresser when she was about 3. Luckily, the only thing that was hurt was the TV. We have a TV in the living room and a TV in our spare bedroom.

I have a TV in my bedroom, but I would gladly swap it fr a man to have some fun!
Until then, I like to watch TV in my bed in the evening.

I have both, I prefer the TV .... I can turn it OFF!!!

We have a small one but it's not hooked up to cable and it's been years since it's been turned on.

Ditto - we have the old, tiny, dorm-sized one in there, not hooked up to cable. We sometimes turn on the news in the morning, but that's it.

I have fallen asleep with the tv on since I was little. It used to drive my Dh crazy, but he has gotten used to it.

We had one in our bedroom until a year ago (when we moved - the tele was dropped and never the same afterward). It's been a full year and we haven't missed it at all.

We do but not for TV watching. It's DH's video game playing obsession.

We used to, but decided not to have one in the bedroom when we moved into our new house. It's actually really nice without it. This means we only have one tv, so we have learned to like what the other is watching. DH is nicer than me, so this means he has been converted to most of my shows.

Also, a tv in the bedroom is the first thing they tell you get rid of if you have insomnia.
