Has anyone purchased straps/hanger for a 13" tv/vcr combo to put in your van to occupy the kids on the trip? Where did you find them? TIA

We usually rig up a set of drawers between the front seats and rear seats to set the TV on never heard of hangers..

When we went to Disney in December we traveled from New york with two boys ages 11 an 8. We also purchased a t.v.\v.c.r for their enjoyment. We just used folded up blankets that we took along on the trip and the t.v. sat right there in between the front seats at the perfect hight for them to see with no problem.

We just put an upside down crate between the seats and put the TV/VCR combo on top of that. How did our parents ever do road trips without a TV/VCR combo???

We have used the tv/vcr many times in the van. We set it up between the two front seats on a wooden stand(husband made). But yes we did strap it down. We used what they call motor cycle straps. They are nylon with buckles that allow you to tighten them.It is very important to secure both the tv and the stand. If there was ever an accident imagine the TV being thrown around the inside of the vehicle. You can get these straps at Home Depot, Cnadaian tire or at camping/hiking stores. We always secured the TV to the base of the front seats to ensure it wouldn't move if anything did happen.

My husband uses bungy cords to strap our tv down to the center console of our suburban.
He also put a big bolt through the place where the antenna goes and bought a rubber bungy cord drilled a hole in it and put the bolt through it.
If you can't strap it down don't use it because in an accident you will have a very large bullett moving in you car.

We purchased a neat "wedge" thing from Target. It is made just for TV combos and has a couple sizes of wedges so you can obtain the proper angle for the tv. It has straps that secure the tv to the wedge base part. On the front of it is a nice pocket for remotes and such. It has velcro on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the carpeting of the vehicle. It fits nice between the front seat of our minivan. I believe it is made by Axius and I found it in the car accessory department. I would also suggest strapping it down to the front seat anchors or something to secure in the event of a crash or sudden stop!

We fold down half of the middle seat in our van and use a two rubber bungee cords to secure it. That tv ain't goin' anywhere without the seat!:D :D
