Hey there ladies and gents!
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this thought or knows the answers to this but...My entire family is flying in from Maine. We are flying down on December 30th, the wedding is the 5th of January and then we have our reception at home on the 10th. We have a Men's Wearhouse in a near by city and know that there is one in Orlando as well. Does anyone know if it would be cheaper to rent them at home and travel with them both ways or should we rent them in Orlando and travel with them just one way and return them in Maine...OR... rent one in maine and one in orlando. AUGH!!! What a pain in the butt men can be :confused3

Hmmm.... if it doesn't cost that much more to extend the tuxedo rental, I say to rent them in Maine. That way you can be sure they fit, and you'll have one less thing to do when you get to Orlando. When we were looking into renting at home and traveling with the tuxes, the charge to keep them a bit longer wasn't that much money (but this was from an independent tux place).

Thanks for the idea! We were thinking about that...we will just have to weigh out the costs for the extra baggage that airlines are charging now compared to extending the rental.

Hi Mindy!!!!! We have a house in Port Clyde, Maine... around Camden/Rockland area... do you know where that is? I used to go to Old Orchard Beach alll the time when I was a kid!!!! I have family in Yarmouth! Sorry, I had to share... I love finding fellow Mainers! :goodvibes

We rented DH tux up here and returned it down there. It was more piece of mind that it would fit and that we had it in our posession the whole time. The only downside was the cost of the cab ride to get it to the Men's Wearhouse! yikes! :scared1:

I didn't know that you could rent from one location and return at another. Thats a good thing to keep in mind.

It will definitely be cheaper to rent once and keep them for both events. We rented from MW - half the guys picked up at home and brought them with us (in the car) my dad and nephew got theirs in Florida since they were flying and didn't want the extra luggage. We returned them all in Orlando. With the shoes in those bags, they're not as small as you'd think they'd be. If you can swing it and have a car to get there, you've got plenty of time, so I'd pick up in Fla a few days before the wedding, and keep them until after your reception at home. At least that way you can probably avoid the extra fees for keeping them too long (I think we had them 8 days with no issues) and only pay extra luggage fees (if there are any) one time. If it were me, I'd bring a suitcase that you could fit a couple tuxes in to come back home so you have 1 bag and not multiple to pay extra charges on.

I know exactly where you are. I work for a company that owns campgrounds and they own megunticook and camden hills campgrounds :) I was just up there a couple of weeks ago. I have never lived anywhere else and I couldn't imagine not living on the ocean. I dont go to the beach but I know I would miss it if it wasnt right there :beach:

My friends stay at Megunticook every year!!!!!!!! I love it there!!!!! :thumbsup2

Does MW come to your resort room to do a fitting like Carolyn Allen's do?

My DH, dad and 2 ushers bought seersuckers suits on sale at Macy's and basically just threw them in the luggage. We arranged for everything to be steamed before the wedding so it didn't matter too much how we packed it.

The guys spent a flat $150 for their suits and they got to keep them. Just another option for ya!:goodvibes
