Hi everyone....
My DH2B Jon wanted me to post a question for him. He remembers that when him and his friends would order tuxes for the prom it would take around a week to do. First you'd have to pick out the one you like, then get fitted, and wait almost a week for it to come in. How long in advance do you need to be in Disney before your wedding? We don't know if it will be a problem for his friends if they can't afford to come a week in advance. I guess the questing is how long does it take from the fitting to receive the tux? :confused3 Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi.. I am not sure if this will help but we live in Chicago and got married in Disney a couple weeks ago.

We got our tuxes from Afterhours, they are everywhere. We had all the guys get fitted at the store nearest them (we had guys in FL, IL, and KY), and those stores faxed all the info to the store where my new hubby got measured. They also called and paid this store by phone (it doesnt matter what store they pay). When the store had have everyones measurements, they called the store at the Florida mall in Orlando to set everything up, and faxed all the measurements to them. Its actually an easy process! All of our guys were measured a little more than a month in advance. We got married on a Saturday and we picked up all of the tuxes on Thurs. night. We had no problems, and everything worked out. The Florida mall is about 15-20 minutes from Disney.

Hope this info helps...

I just thought of another question. Did the guys get fitted at a tux store near them called Afterhours or can any store do the fitting and fax the info down to Florida? Cause I don't know if we have an afterhours in NJ. :confused3

They got fitted at a store called DEsmonds (owned by Afterhours). I am sure you have a store around you, they are everywhere. Afterhours bought out like everyone. Go to Afterhours.com and locate one near you. If not, as long as you work things out with the Florida mall, I am sure things will work. I would first check to see how close you are to one.

Hi, I did what you said and I went to afterhours.com .... well I feel so stupid...lol they're in about 6 malls that I go to all the time. lol I guess I just never noticed them before. Thanks for all your help. :bounce:

Anytime, Im glad it worked out. I would recommend going in with your guy, and have them measure him. While you are there explain everything to them, and let them know you want to pick them up at the Florida Mall, not the Fashion Mall.

If you are interested in buing instead of renting, i just got mine a few weeks ago at JCPennys. I bought the entire tux-brand new-for approx $130. It came with the jacket, pants, shirt, cufflinks, bowtie and cumberbund. I figured instead of renting an old one for approx 80-100 min, i would buy and own mine for a few bux more. I found some awesome shoes on ebay for $8, then i ordered a vest for $20 since i wanted that instead of the cumberbund. I also found some for my sons online for a buy it now for $35 each! they arrived and are perfect and brand new.

Good Luck!!

If you were familiar with Gingiss Formalwear, Afterhours is the new name for it.

Thank you everyone for all of you help and advice. I will be sure to tell my DH2B. Disneyfun1 that is a great buy that you got in JCPenny...wow! :flower:

Carolyn Allens is also a great place. They will also deliver and pick up your tux at your hotel. That's why I am going with them. They are the same price as after hours on most things and all you do is get sized (afterhours did our sizing) and send in the information. they come to your hotel to fit you and make sure everything is ok.

We used Gingiss in Orlando for our tuxes. The guys all got fitted at a Gingiss near where they lived, then I called Gingiss in Orlando with all their measurements. The day of the rehearsal (the day before the wedding) Gingiss brought all the tuxes for the guys to try on to be sure they fit. Any pants or jackets that didn’t fit were replaced the next day with the proper size. The guys then dropped off their tuxes the next day at the GF’s front desk where Gingiss returned to pick them up. I worked with a lady named Dana there, and she was great to work with!

We had a great experience with them too. We had everyone get measured in a shop at home and we sent her all the measurements. They came with a rack of stuff to our hotel the day before the wedding and did a fitting session for everyone at once. They made final adjustments on the spot, remembered things we had forgotten (the Best Man forgot dress socks!) and then 3 days after the wedding everyone took their stuff to the bell stand and they picked it up.

Quick heads up on After Hours, though.
My DH2B, his dad and my dad all ordered their tuxes from After Hours. I knew the manager, so we were able to take our tuxes with us from home and return them a week later :)
Anyway, we went two days before we were due to leave to pick up the tuxes and my father's was not there! The guy who helped him wrote down the wrong wedding date AND had the wrong measurements at that! So even if the tux was in, it wouldn't have fit! Luckily, they were able to rush order another one and have it in before we left.
Make 100% sure, no matter where you go, the measurements and wedding date are correct! Last thing you need with a magical Disney wedding is to be stuck with no tux!
