Tutto Italia?

there was another thread recently but we like Tutto, been there twice (once was last week) and plan to go back in November. the food is very good, authentic italian I think, and the service was very friendly and good. The eggplant app was excellent. The gnocchi entree was also excellent.

We always eat here although I'm not sure if we would without the dining plan. This place would be very expensive if paying oop. The food and service has always been good. The dining room is very loud and crowded but we kind of expect that in a theme park restaurant.

We had lunch there last year on the dining plan. I thought the food was very good but it didnt live up to the hype. I thought the kids portions were very generous and good. My son ordered the pizza from off the kids menu and it was huge. He loves pizza and couldnt eat the whole thing. Overall the kids were happy. I forgot the name of the dish I ordered but it was with the heavy cream sauce and peas. It was ok. My husband also thought his dish was ok.
The service started out lovely. It was nice to see that everyone in there was from some part of Italy and spoke Italian. (at least the ones I saw) Our waiter was very attentive and brought us our drink relatively quickly. But when it started to get a little more crowded we were waiting and I mean waiting. We were actually sitting there watching him with other tables and waiting until he got done. I felt so bad for trying to flag him. We even flagged another waiter (which I hate to do) and that waiter didnt help.
In the end our waiter even went so far as to tell us how the dining works in that the tip isnt covered. We already knew that. Would we go again, maybe if it were not lunch or at least a less crowded time. And we would probably pay OOP because there is no way we would order all that food.

I'm going to get creamed for this, I'm sure......
I actually favor Tutto over the old Alfredos.......we'll be back on the 23rd to enjoy Tutto again!

Think of Olive Garden and then think two steps down. Ate there two weeks ago and No not again for us. eeeek

I have to agree. I really like Tutto better than Alfredos. We always have a sit down lunch at least one day in Epcot and always pick Tutto. We have always enjoyed our meals . Most likely we will go again this year. Counting down to Disney in 17 days!

We really enjoyed Tutto and had wonderful service. We had a variety of entrees including lamb, steak, fish, lasagna, ravioli. Everything was very good, but the chianti ravioli was fab! Tutto is a great choice on the dining plan, but can be pricy if paying oop.

Has anyone had a problem with their "adult" children ordering off a kid's menu? My son is 11 and he doesn't like pasta or sauces (I know it is odd. :confused3) so I was hoping he could order a pizza from a kid's menu. A previous poster said they were not allowed to do this. Anyone else have this problem?

We will be on the regular dining plan.

I wouldnt worry about what menu to order from. They are very accomodating. If you are on the DP than I dont see any issue. If you are paying oop, than ask for a manager. I mean if he doesnt like the adult choices, he should be able to order what he likes.

My DH does not like pasta with a lot of sauce. So when he was thinking of ordering spaghetti with meatballs, he was hesitant, the waiter offered to bring plain pasta with sauce and meatballs on the side. It was perfect for him and delicious.

I was the previous poster who had the issue. Our "adult" children were not allowed to order off the children's menu. They were accommodating, yes, and brought spaghetti, no sauce or meatballs, but we were charged $19 for it!:scared1: I probably should have asked a manager about it, but by the time I knew what they charged we were finished eating, so I just let it go. I thought by just ordering plain pasta they'd give us a break on the price. Not so!

It always seems that people have different experiences with staff at WDW. Our waiter was great. In your case, I would have never expected to be charged full price.

I really dont see why they dont let "disney adult" children order from the children's menu. I understand the prices are cheaper; but wouldnt they want to have happy customers?? Even the young ones?? Happy children, make happy parents, who are happy to spend!!!

If you like Olive Garden, go to Mama Melrose or Tony's.

If you like real Italian food, go to Tutto Italia.

It is pricey out of pocket, but well worth it on the dining plan, especially Deluxe, as their appetizers were excellent.

I've eaten dinner at Tutto Italia four times and it has been excellent on each ocassion. I have two reservations there on my upcoming vacation.

We have a DD who doesn't eat a whole lot, she takes a great deal of medication for epilepsy and her appetite fluctuates, so we spoke to the manager, who was extremely accomodating about converting her "adult" meal on the DDP to a "kids" pick meal. We were so thankful, we thanked him so much and left a nice tip for our wonderful waiter who went out of his way to cater to our DD with her meal. We love eating there, we will be eating here again in August. They have authentic italian and their deserts are out of this world!!!!

Had lunch here in March. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It was wonderful.

After years of avoiding because of bad reviews, we loved it. :welcome: Tutto Italia to my list of favorites.

Tutto = Macaroni Grill We ate there once and will most likely not go again. I can get the same quality food at home at a macaroni grill.

We ate there in March and didn't care for it at all. Had the lasagna, which was small, was soggy noodles and found NO meat in it.
Kids had spaghetti - was okay.

The price is what really surprised me!
Usually kids meals come with their little appetizer and dessert. Nope. Kids meals were $9.50 - plus another $6 if wanted salad or fruit cup that usually comes with kid meals.. and another $6 for a sundae that would usually come with kids meals.
Figures... we had dining plan, and this one we paid out of pocket for, had more dining planned than dining credits - it was lunch, figured okay, won't be expensive - but never thought it would be so expensive for so little food for all of us!

Was excited to try it.... glad we did and can check it off our list of places to try, but nope, won't be going back. And we're a family that loves real Italian food, are not fans of Olive Garden.
