I've got ADR's for both for our stay -we're on the dining plan so cost doesn't matter. Any thoughts or opinions?

Haven't tried the Italian place because of the prices (no dining plan) but the Biergarten was requested on the next trip by my husband. He doesn't do things like that. Depends on what you want. Beirgarten is a "let your hair down" kind of place. I would imagine the Italian place would be more upscale like the prices reflect.

It really just depends on what kind of food you like better, Italian or German. For our family we go to the Biergarten at least once on every trip. In fact knowing that he will get to eat there is one of the ways that I convince my DH to go to WDW every other year. On our last trip we ate there twice.

You can't get better bang-for-buck on the DDP than at Tutto Italia. Early reviews of the food seem to be mostly excellent. The only downside is the prices, which (to my way of thinking) is an even stronger incentive to pick it over Biergarten when you only need spend 1 TS credit to eat there. Biergarten is comparatively inexpensive, so if you don't have another TS credit and want to try it, go for lunch and pay OOP.

When did Tutto get added. When I was checking the 2008 ddp list I did not see it on there?

I guess I should clarify... I'm assuming the OP is visiting during 2007. Tutto Italia is definitely on the 2007 plan for only 1 TS credit. If instead she's on the 2008 DDP, I don't know if this will work. Last I heard, Tutto hadn't yet been listed on the 2008 plan. Plus, it will be closed for a big chunk of 2008 for extensive renovations.

But if you're talking about 2007, that's where I'd go.

If you haven't been there yet, the bg is a hoot. long tables mix you with other customers so you get to meet new people, buffet with some german (weiner schnitzel, etc.) and some regular foods like roast chicken. This is NOT the place to be for a "light meal" beer is good and plentiful and the little shows on stage are a lot of fun, good entertainment. Kindof a rollicking place, so if you are looking for quiet forget it. Also, is will be Octoberfest now so be prepared for fun.

Don't like the seating at Biergarten.

All five of us loved the Biergarten! The kids had a fantastic time, the food is good, so is the beer and music! We met a nice family from South Dakota and they told us all about how corn is used as a resource there and we swapped CBM (coal bed methane) and oil stories with them....real nice folks!
