Tutto Italia must be popular! No ADRs

I usually have no trouble getting ADRs since we tend to eat late, but I was surprised to have no luck getting an ADR to Tutto Italia for our upcoming trip. We booked our ADRs months ago, but were switching a few around - no trouble with switching others, but the only times available for this place were a couple of 4:30ish times. Makes me want to go there even more now!

Call each day and check the times. I'm sure someone will need to cancel.

IMO its their pricing. They are making people on the DDP feel like its such a bargain to be eating their for their inflated costs. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe they are the most expensive 1TS credit restaurant bar none.

Wow - we had no trouble getting our ADR in August there. Then again - I called exactly 180 days out before our trip.

Tutto Italia is a very popular restaurant for those on the Dining Plan. It's expensive and only requires one TS credit from the plan.

I got a 5:50pm today for the last week of April. As a matter of fact, for the first time I booked several reservations and I got everything I wanted.

I thought with all the talk of people not getting reservations that we would be winging it, but ever slot I asked for was open.

How can I put this. Hmmm. The Olive Garden always has a 40 minute wait on a Saturday night here. Can anyone think of a Morrocan chain restaurant?

Italian food is a pretty safe bet, especially with kids. I don't think it is the resaurant itself that is popular just Italian food in general.

fyi, we found TI to be one of the best restaurants in WDW (authentic italian food expertly prepared), & our hands down favorite of all the WS restaurants (yes, better than le cellier).
simply, the more ppl that try it, the more popular it will become.

:)

I agree. I ate there for the first time this past Dec and it was the best meal I had all week (and that includes the meals I had at Le Cellier and Jiko). I already have ADRs for Tutto Italia for my May and Sept trips.

FYI: I had a lemon salmon appetizer, fish with clams, and ice cream with fruit and fudge. All were delicious.

lschrow and aubriee - ITA 100%!

It's absolutely NOT Olive Garden or your local chain, it's not classic Southern Italian, and though the listed prices are high - it's worth it - DDP or not.

One of the few TS with tablecloths on the table, upscale service as well as excellent food.

Keep trying, OP, it's worth it!

I don't know if you just had bad luck or if I had crazy good luck, but after reading your post I remembered that I needed to switch my ADR to TI, and started freaking out that maybe I wouldn't be able to. However, no problems, got a 7:00 seating on 7/26. If it's half as good as I've heard, I can't wait to try it out.

I was skeptical about trying Tutto Italia because the Italian restaurant they had there first was about as Italian as the Olive Garden. Which isn't exactly real Italian in my opinion. But I've been hearing good things about this new place. I can't wait to try it. :)

Give it a try! We never particularly liked Alfredos, but Tutto Italia is wonderful. I can still hear the salmon appetizer and fish/clam dish calling my name.:cloud9:

A funny story I forgot to mention in my previous post: When I was there in Dec there was a couple seated right next to me just a few minutes after I was seated. Normally I wouldn't have paid attention but we were seated in that section that has like a bench along the wall then a chair on the other side of the table. (The section against the wall, that has alot of tables for two.) Anyway we were sitting right next to each other. The man came in mad and you could tell did not want to eat there. Apparently the wife had booked it for their CP pkg. They saw I was alone and we got to talking. She told me they were from New York, her husband was Italian, and they had hated Alfredos, but she wanted to give Tutto Italia a try. He was still pouting when my lemon salmon appetizer came. He looked it over VERY carefully. They ordered the appetizer platter for two, which I in turn drooled over. They ate every bite and he ate like he was starved. When my fish/clam dish came out, the chef himself brought it out, told me what was in it, told me it was his signature dish and made me try it while he watched. He then used the pepper grinder to personally add more pepper to it. The chef also made a few comments to the other couple about their appetizer plate. After the chef left, I thought that man next to me was going to dive into my fish. I swear he was literally drooling. They had each ordered some pasta dish. They ate every bite, but throughout the meal the man just kept staring at and drooling over my fish. I finally laughed, picked the plate up and offered him some. He got embarrassed, said 'no thank you, but that sure looks good'. He did finally take one of my clams off the edge of the plate. He immediately asked his wife if she could get another ADR for later in the week. We both laughed at him and reminded him that he had not wanted to eat there and was pouting when they walked in. He got a little huffy, finally laughed, and said 'this is not Alfredos, this stuff is good, like grandma's good'. You may have had to be there, but it was really funny, how as strangers we were drooling over each other's plates, and how I thought a total stranger was going to dive into my plate at any moment. I sortof wondered if I needed to keep my fork and knife handy, to protect my food. I didn't eat even half of my fish/clams and if I had been a family member I have no doubt that man would have finished my plate for me.

I thought this restaurant was closing in spring for an extended rehab (and would not be open in August). Anyone have any update on this?

I haven't seen any set dates. I know we have a reservation for May. It will be our fifth dinner there but our daughter's first. We really enjoy Tutto and it has become a must do for us.:thumbsup2

Really excellent service is one of the reasons we enjoy it so much.

Thanks - looks like I will be redoing some of my ADR's to include this. I had just assumed it would be closed.

We just got back. I made my ADR about 8 days before I wanted to eat there, and had a choice of times. We were told they were going to close for extensive renovations sometime this year. Good luck with your ressie.

i know i'm curious:
tutto italia is supposed to be "temporary", with the new restaurant opening in "the fall".
hopefully, they will take into account the popularity of TI as it is (food, menu, service, atmosphere), & not change it into a "new & improved" pseudo-alfredo's.
:scratchin

btw, we had a very poor waiter at alfredo's once (ignored our table with no refills, left dirty plates, condescending, etc). at the end of our meal (DDP), we pulled out cash, & in clear view of the waiter, gave it to the busboy (who had been great).
we had the same waiter on our last visit to TI, & immediately noticed a huge difference. he was attentive, but not overbearing, dishes were cleared & refills given promptly.
it appeared they "retrained" at least that one waiter for TI

I didn't book an ADR for August because according to all of the unofficial sites this place won't be open in August!
But now the peer pressure has gotten to me, so I called and booked dinner. I suppose if they are going to be closed we will eat CS that night, since that was the original plan!
