I had read that TI was closing early next year for a refurb. Does anyone have update info on the closing date??

Hi,

It was actually supposed to close in Spring 2008 and reopen as a new restaurant in the fall of 2008. But clearly that hasn't happened!

They assumed the old Alfredo's spot and changed the name. I had read, a while back, that they would shut down TI for a complete refurb(similiar to Japan )

The last I heard, it was closing in late August, to reopen as a 'new' restaurant. It is supposed to be basically the same, with few changes. I thought it was to open early winter. But, as with all things, it was subject to change!! Who knows what the deal is as of today.

I thought it was closing in Aug. too but when I tried to get an ADR there and asked if it was still going to be open in Sept. The CM said "it just opened!" There wasn't any availability the day I checked, completely booked (or maybe closed???)

Does anyone reading this have an ADR in Sept.? Be interesting to know.

I just got an ADR there last week for mid September. The only times she had available for a party of 4 were 4:30 and after 7 pm. So it sounds as if it is fully booked for that day at least.
I didn't originally book there because of the projected closure .. but I imagine if for some reason it is closed for then they will offer us something else.
I am also going to guess they would be full all of the free dining period so they probably wouldn't close until it was over... but that's just a guess on my part.:)

I've got an ADR there for October, so I'm assuming it's not closing before then. I think it's been more popular than they anticipated so they may have put of the refurb.

Wow you would have thought they would have done it when they changed it over the first time.:confused3

I've been wondering this too! I have an ADR for the Candelight Processional in December - sure hope it's still open!!

Well, except that when they closed Alfredo's, the Teppanyaki/Teppan Edo refurbishment was taking (much) longer than expected/intended. They didn't want to have two World Showcase TS restaurants closed at the same time.

:) We have ADRs in Oct. and are really looking forward to it. We were there in April and loved it! I know that it was supposed to be open on a temporary basis but it has been so popular that that may be the reason for delay in the refurbishment.

We have ADR's in December and I will be very disapointed if they close before we get a chance to try it, plus it will be very difficult to get a replacement ADR. If they are taking reservations for the Candlelight Processional then it will probably remain open through December.....I hope.

I ate there both this past December and May. When I was there in December, I asked the CM about rumors of them closing for refurbishments and he said the restaurant very quickly became more popular than they expected and the refurbishment had been postponed indefinitley. At that time they were taking walkups for the outside tables, but not for tables inside. I asked again when I was there in May and the waiter, while not as friendly and informative as the first one, also said that the refurbishment had been postoned indefinitely. He also rather haughtily said that Tutto Italia was quickly gaining in popularity to rival Le Cellier:rotfl: and he couldn't see them closing it anytime soon. That day, all walkups were being turned away (even for the outside tables).

Anyway, we have another ADR there for September and can't wait.
