I got a Sony a6000 not too long ago with both the 16-50mm and the 55-210mm lens'. I am kind of blundering around using it and wondering if there is some sort of easy step by step tutorial on how to use this camera to it's fullest potential. I'm worried when we finally get to WDW I won't be able to get the shots I want because I can't figure this thing out!

I have to ask the question about your photography knowledge. All cameras function by capturing light. Are you an experienced photographer just needing something specifically for that camera or do you need help with the photographic triangle of shutter speed, aperture, ISO? Those three elements are the basics of photography. If you know the relationship between the three then the rest falls into place rather easily.

I sadly am just a point and shoot girl. I really want to have nice night time photos though and a few action shots. Our son is in a ton of sports which is why we splurged on this camera so learning to use it properly is really important. Thank you for your reply!

Here is a video tutorial of many of the basic functions of the camera.

Thank you both very much!! I am so excited to learn and figure it all out!

I would recommend a book by Bryan Peterson, "Understanding Exposure". It is very good at explaining the basics you will need to understand the "why" of the camera's controls and how they interact with each other to obtain the best image. Its an easy read (aka big lettering and lots of pictures), that explains the photographic triangle. Its pretty much a standard recommendation to those upgrading and trying to improve their photography.
