Silly as it sounds, with 6 people in our family, I'm a little stressed about ordering and "paying" for our QS meals. I'm envisioning nightmarish lines of people standing behind us while we shuffle around our key cards... etc. :scared:

Tell me how you order and pay - do you tell the CM before you order that you're on the QSDP? Are the meals on separate cards? What else should I know about this process?

THANK YOU!

You can pay for all your meals using one card, you do not need to show each card. It wouldn’t hurt to tell the CM that you are on the plan before you order. Always check your receipts to make sure that you were charged correctly! Hope this helps!

Are you in 1 or 2 rooms? If you're in 2 rooms then your credits will be split across the 2 rooms which adds a little bit more confusion. How many in your party are under 10 and how many are older? You'll need to be sure that you pay for the kids' meals using the KTTW card that shows the kids on it.

If you have 1 room (like a family suite or a DVC 2br) then you'll just need to present 1 KTTW card for payment. Tell the CM up front that you're paying using the dining plan. If you're going to be using any snack credits in addition to meal credits then the cashier will need to ring those in separately.

If you have 2 rooms then as I said, the credits are split between the 2 rooms. Place the order for the people on card 1 and pay then place the order for people on card 2 and pay. This is necessary because each KTTW card will show the total number of adults and kids who have the plan. That is how many adult and kid meals you can order at a time with each card. It really is simple, it's just one extra step when ordering.

You'll need to be sure that you pay for the kids' meals using the KTTW card that shows the kids on it. Hmmm... good to know! On my reservation is looks like she put me in one room with two under 10, and dh plus the >10 child and the last <10 in the other room. I wouldn't have thought of how that would play out on the DP - thanks for the heads up!

I was told this wasn't the way it worked. I was told if we are on 1 reservation even though it was 2 rooms we would still have all the credits together. Can someone who has done this clarify? We will be in 2 rooms and it really will make a difference to us how the credits are divided on the keys.

It really is quite simple; it just requires the one extra step each time you're ordering. If you're ordering at a park CS location then just place the orders for one room and pay then the orders for the second room and pay. If you're ordering at your resort CS then you can get all the food at once and then tell the cashier which food will be charged against which card since at the resort you have your food in hand already when you pay. I personally would split the food on the trays by which KTTW card will pay for the food just to keep it simpler.

ETA: It might simplify things in your minds a little if you had all of the kids listed in the one room. That way all kids meals will be paid for with one KTTW card. You could order all the meals for the kids on one card (1A/3C is what the card will say) and then order yours and DH's meals on the other. Very easy to keep straight that way.

It really depends on how the reservation was made. If you have only one confirmation number for the 2 rooms then the credits may be pooled. If you have 2 separate confirmation numbers for the rooms and the rooms are just linked then the credits will be separated by rooms. Most people in this situation end up with 2 confirmation numbers which are linked; it seems as though very few CMs know how to do a single confirmation number for 2 rooms.

One trip we had 6 people in 2 rooms. The credits were split between the rooms based on who was on which reservation (room1 had 2A/2C, room 2 had 2A). We had separate confirmation numbers for the 2 rooms with a note linking the reservations and a request for connecting rooms (which we got).

Thank you! Our reservation is two rooms but only one confirmation number so we should have everything on all the cards. Since there are times we will be splitting up (me taking the boys an DW taking DD) I was hoping we'd just have everything pooled so it was easier to manage.

If you have two rooms under the same reservation number then all your credits will be pooled for the entire party and will be accessible through any key card assigned to any party member. If this is the case, you can order six meals (3 adult and 3 child meals) and then pay with one card. If you have separate reservation numbers for each room, you will need to present a key card from each room to order meals for the entire party.

The funny thing is we orginally had two confirmation numbers. When we got the free dining pin and added it to the booking the CM who did that part said they were changing it to be a single confirmation number because it was easier to manage the reservation that way. I'm glad we went through that process.

There are 3 of us in our room, me, DH and DS, all adults and on the QSDP. Are all the credits on one card, or can my DS go to a different CS restaurant and use his card? For example, if we're in Epcot and we want to eat at different places, can we just split up or is everything on one card?

Remember - don't be afraid to ask if you have a question. Tell the CM you have the plan and they will help you. Ask about substituting. Remember that you can get a bottled water for your dessert. When you are getting all those meals a few people are going to pass on desserts so why not get a water. Beats wasting the dessert. I would get the menus for all the CS places and have an idea of what is available. There is more to get than just burgers and chicken nuggets. Don't try to get all the bang you can get out of the plan. Get what you want to eat and not the most expensive thing. Mix it up and have fun.

The CMs are truly great about making sure you have everything you're "entitled" to. I always tell them when I walk up that we're on the DDP & have 4 adults & 1 child. When I get done ordering, I ask if I've forgotten anything and they double check my order. When in doubt, just ask the CM. They deal with the DDPs all the time. Have a great trip!
