Tusker House!

I ate here on Tues. Feb. 3 around 11:30 and LOVED it! The decor alone is worth eating there, can't believe I missed it in the past. The Chicken was great, and so were the green beans and REAL mashed Potatoes.

I couldn't agree more!! We found this place a few years ago and I think it's one of the best park counter service restaurants in all of Disney. We were there Saturday. I had the chicken salad but my dd had the chicken. I ended up eating her mashed potatoes and string beans (she wouldn't eat them)--but they were so good!!

We sat outside which was really nice and watched an acrobatic group perform.

We have been there twice last week and really enjoyed the food.
The chicken and the salmon are really delicious, only a bit too much garlic in the mashed potatoes. You don't want to be kissed after eating that
Chicken sandwiches and fries are really good as well.
Love the restaurant!

LOVED the Tusker House! I had the salmon, veggies and rice and it was goooooooood! That will always be a lunch stop for us at AK!!

I love the Tusker House too, I wish Disney would make more counter service menus like it.

We tend to do early lunches, and early lunches at AK are a bit of an oxymoron.

For us the food at WDW is so different from home that we eat want we want no matter what time it is. And then we feel very guilty when we are in the Netherlands again.
Overhere:
breakfast is sandwiches with cheese and then the dark kind of bread, not the white stuff and fruits
lunch is sandwiches with cheese or meat again
and dinner is boiled potatoes with vegetables and fish or meat.
So when we are at WDW we think we eat dinner 3 times a day!!
Because almost all the food overthere is warm/hot even breakfast!

breakfast is just as good - we don't even eat at the hotel because we know we'll have good food there

Maybe this is a silly question, but can you really eat breakfast as well at Tusker House?

is awesome. My husband still raves about it and tells me that we will be eating breakfast there the next time we visit AK! We had ham, egg & cheese on a croissant (nothing like McD's) with hasbrowns cooked with peppers and onions. It was very tasty - not your everyday hashbrowns and breakfast sandwich.

Definitely try Tusker House for breakfast!

I am so excited to try Tusker House in May. We usually eat at Flame Tree BBQ, but I talked DH into skipping it this one trip and trying something new. Does anyone have any favorites at Tusker that you recommend?

They have those wonderful "Cinnabon" type cinnamon rolls, too -- one of those and a big cup of coffee (it tastes better there than most WDW restaurants for some reason), and I'm good to safari for the next few days!

Okay, dumb question - I know the Tusker House is in AK, but where in AK is it?!!?

It's just across the way from the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. We're doing Atkins, and we ordered the breakfast platter.

When DH told the server that we didn't want potatoes or biscuit with the breakfast, she loaded him up on eggs and sausage. He brought so much out that we could have shared 1 meal instead of ordering 2 of them!!

They couldn't discount the price, but what a LOT of food.......

It's counter service, but the food is really good!!

And there are so many nice places to sit, too... inside or outside. We (party of 6) sat outside in December.
