WHERE DID THE PEANUT ENCRUSTED CHICKEN SKEWERS GO????

DH and I love them. We had them for the first time in Dec 00' and ended up going back to AK three more times during that trip for lunch. We were just there three weeks ago, DH had business trip. I went to AK with DS one day when he was working and low and behold NO SKEWERS!!!! I was so upset I call me DH on cell phone he couldn't believe it. He thought I was joking around with him because he had asked me the night before to bring him an order home and he would eat them for dinner.

Seriously what happened?

We were there last August, and they didn't have them then, either. They must have gotten rid of them some time ago. Anyone else know?

The balsamic chicken salad was WONDERFUL, though!!!

I loved those too! I guess they went the way of the fried chicken and the beef stew in a bread bowl:(

I am sorry to hear that they do not serve this anymore. But here is the recipe. You can order the Peri Peri sauce from this website
http://www.perksperiperi.com/. I have not tried it yet. But let me know if you do.

Peanut Crusted Chicken
4 oz – 6 oz Fresh skinless Chicken Breast cut in half
Marinade:
8 oz. African Peri Peri Heat Sauce
24 oz Water
4 oz Flour
1 oz Crushed Peanut
Marinade for 8 to 12 hours before serving
Season chicken breast with salt and pepper
Roll in flour with crushed peanuts
Fry at 325 degrees for 5 – 7 minutes

They may have removed it to prevent cross-contamination with the peanut products. If they are cooking peanut encrusted skewers on their grill - they can't cook anything else to be served to people with peanut allergies on it.

Unfortunately, this allergy can be very serious - it doesn't take much exposure to cause a deadly reaction - and it is becoming much more common.

Just a thought!

My DS has a serious dairy allergy and though he tested negative for peanuts we still have to keep him away from it until he is three.

So I completely understand about the cross contamination. I just really really miss them. They were so good. BUT the balsamic chicken salad was an excellent substitute.
