Tusker House vs. Flame Tree

Deciding factor for me is: now, don't laugh. . . similar meals, yet
Flame Tree has baked beans (I do not like baked beans) and
Tusker has mashed potatoes, I do like those. :)

We had the BBQ chicken. It was enough for us to share as a light lunch, and we all (DD11, me, DH) enjoyed it.

Hi, The worse meal we had at disney was at Epcot, we were on the meal plan(highly recommend it, but that's another thread). We were limited to choice and at at the Umbrella restaurant, man was it bad. The service was horrible, it seems asking for an extra roll threw them into a tizzy, not paying for it, just putting on the plate. The burger was gross, overcooked, dried out and whatever the cheese portion was it certainly didn't look like cheese. The fries were cold alnd the desserts hard. We were limited and wanted to see illuminations. Now there are more choices, we will make a different choice.

I vote yes for both of them! Before we finally tried Flame Tree in November, we always went to the Tusker House for the chicken. After trying Flame Tree, I don't know which is my favorite. IMHO, I think AK has the best food choices of all 4 parks.

We usually eat at Tusker House, but we tried Flame Tree when we were there a couple of weeks ago and we did not enjoy it. The chicken was dry and the smoke seasoning they use is very overpowering and unpleasant. Also, the lack of indoor seating was a problem since it was cool and windy that day. The ducks that troll for food around the tables are an annoyance; a duck parked himself under my son's high chair and snapped at his hand when he reached down to touch it. My son then proceeded to throw his entire lunch at the duck, who immediately sent out a call to his duck buddies and before we knew it, we were literally surrounded by a flock of the little beggars. Overall, not a good lunch experience. We're going to stick to Tusker House from now on.

LOL, I am sure it really stank at the time, but if it makes you feel any better your telling of that story really just made me literally laugh out loud. Just the image of your son throwing his lunch down and the duck calling all his duck buddies, "Hey! We got the jackpot!" for some reason just tickled my funny bone. ;)

Well... we've eathen at Flame Tree the last two years... but we're probably going to try Tusker House this year. Flame Tree is some darn good BBQ, though... it's not Memphis BBQ, but us Memphians are kinda picky about our 'cue. :)

Hey, us Texans are REALLY picky about our BBQ. We ate at Tusker House in January and it was fairly decent BBQ. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't Texas BBQ, but was still pretty good. Even my picky son enjoyed it. My 8y/o GD ate almost all her sandwich and my corn on the cob, as well as her own. Considering she eats like a bird, that's saying somthing. In about two weeks I plan on trying the salmon at Tusker House though, just because really good BBQ is so easy to get here at home.
