Can anyone advise me on which is best - Tusker House or Flame Tree Barbecue?
I like the idea of sitting on the patio by the river at the Flame Tree Barbecue, but the range of food seems a little more limited than Tusker House.
What floats your boat at these CS eateries? :cheer2:

I can only comment on the Tusker House as we haven't tried Flame Tree yet. Tusker House was my favorite CS on our trip last year. My DH and I both had the roasted chicken meal which was wonderful and the carrot cake for desert was also great. Also it was very hot when we went in September so the AC was a nice break from the heat.

It all depends on the kind of food you like. Flametree is the only place I have been where I have liked pullled pork sandwiches(and their fries are good too) so we eat there.

Our family really enjoys Flame Tree. We get the pork with corn on the cob. If you go around back there is a path to some tables near the water. Nice place to sit and eat.

We're trying to decide between the two as well. We've had FT, but I was wanting to try TH on this trip. Good point about the air conditioner. I think we'll give TH a try.:goodvibes

You'll have to excuse my ignorance on this but what exactly is "pulled pork"? It's not a term that is used in the UK. I have a mental image of a pig being stretched on a rack over a log fire. :rotfl: I hope I'm wrong!

:lmao: You are not far from that idea. :teeth: A pig is usually barbecued or roasted and then the meat is pulled off the bone ( think shredded ). It can be very good and it can be very bad. FT is the very good kind.

Have tried both, and I prefer FT! Just walk by, and the smell of BBQ will draw you in....The key lime pie is great, too!

Do both.... Tusker in the morning for breakfast and Flame Tree in the afternoon for lunch.

We really like the breakfast at Tusker, this year 3 of us shared the scrambled egg plate with bacon, a cinamon roll and a bagel. All at a reasonable price (even for a Disney park).

I have done both, and I too, prefer Flame Tree. Tusker House was good, but FT was better, IMO.

I think too, it all depends on your personal taste. If you are in the mood that day for a good roasted chicken or salmon then Tusker Houser may taste better. If it's ribs or BBQ you crave, well..........

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question (first time to WDW this June). Does one have to wait for AK to open in order to have breakfast at Tusker House??

TIA!!

We have tried both and both are good. Now, we go to Tusker House. The inside of TH has A/C, a great place to cool down in the summer!!!!!
But, most of all, my husband loves the Salmon and rice and the Ale beer there. He loves it. The selection is great for something different, and very good eats!

i've never eaten at flame tree, but last week tried TH for the first time and we all loved it! DH and i had the turkey wraps which came with a tomato and cucumber salad and a corn chowder. my dd had the fried chicken sandwich that came with a small amount of lettuce and tomato salad and steak fries, my son had mac and cheese with apple sauce and mickey crackers. my dd ate BOTH of the corn chowders it was SO good.. i had a hard time giving mine up!! lol... i'd highly recommend it.

Tusker House is inside the park, so it cannot be accessed (and will not be open) until the park itself is open.

As for choosing between the two, they are both very good. You can't go wrong going to either one.

They're both good. I guess it just depends on what you're in the mood for.

We like the ribs and pulled pork sandwich at Flame Tree, but the Rotisserie Chicken at Tusker House is very good too.

If it's not too hot, it is really nice to eat at at one of the tables near the water at Flame Tree.

I prefer TH. We ate at FT in Dec. and the amount of food is not a good value. The quality was fine, but we felt it was not enough for the money. You are given a very small amount of baked beans, it seemed like only a couple of tablespoons. At TH, we felt much more filled at the end of our meal and everything we have had there was good.

I agree that it depends on what type of food you like. I've never eaten at the Flametree, but absolutely LOVE the chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans dish from the Tusker House. Have a wonderful trip! :)

Have tried both...prefer Flame Tree! We did not like the spice used on the chicken at Tusker House. We loved everything we got at FT. The pulled pork sandwich is really good.

We've tried both and I prefer the Tusker House.. DH and DS had the chicken meal and they enjoyted it very much. I had the Fried Chicken sandwich and it was the best CS meal of the trip.
I also like the outdoor seatin area at Flame Tree. Down near the water it is very peaceful and pleasant.
As others have said, it really depends on what you are in the mood for. Both are good.
